Included Health is seeking a strategic, execution-focused Vice President, Corporate Development to lead inorganic growth initiatives. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will be a key architect and driver of our buy/build/partner strategy by sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and executing transactions that align with our strategic goals. The ideal candidate has end-to-end corporate development experience at a growth stage or scaled healthcare or health tech company, with a proven ability to align stakeholders, shape strategy through action, and build trusted relationships inside and outside the organization. You bring a strong external perspective on healthcare trends and will identify high-impact opportunities to advance our mission of raising the standard of healthcare for everyone.

Responsibilities:

  • Strategy Alignment & Development:
  • Partner with the CEO, CFO, and executive leadership to co-author and execute the company’s inorganic growth strategy aligned with business objectives.
  • Deeply intimate with the company’s strategy and defining success metrics to enable our mission through corporate development.
  • Proactively run buy/build/partner assessments to support key growth decisions.

  • Deal Sourcing & Evaluation:
  • Continuously assess and report on market trends, competitive landscape, and emerging technologies to identify potential acquisition or partnership targets.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with founders, executives, VCs, bankers, and other ecosystem players to build a high-quality deal pipeline.
  • Coordinate and run meetings between target companies and internal stakeholders, providing strategic context and preparation in advance.

  • End-to-End Transaction Leadership:
  • Spearhead the corporate development process from initial outreach through close, owning identification, evaluation, and execution of strategic growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, partnerships, alliances, and joint ventures.
  • Partner cross-functionally with product, legal, finance, and executive team members to ensure effective execution and integration planning.
  • Develop and drive the machinery of corporate development, including documentation, meeting preparation, decision-making frameworks, and post-deal follow-ups.
  • Ensure repeatable, rigorous processes are in place for evaluating opportunities and closing transactions.
  • Lead and scale corporate development initiatives, including building out a dedicated team of high-performing professionals as transaction volume and deal complexity warrant. 

  • Executive Stakeholder Management:
  • Translate strategic objectives into clear inorganic growth actions and guide executives in their roles within each deal process.
  • Create clear decision narratives and communicate with clarity and confidence at the executive team and board level. Provide regular updates on M&A strategy, pipeline, and execution progress.
  • Leverage intellectual curiosity and responsiveness to instill trust and develop rapport with internal and external stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • 15+ years of experience, with 5+ years in corporate development at a high-growth healthcare technology or healthcare company preferred; prior experience in investment banking, private equity, or strategy consulting is a plus, but must be complemented by in-house corporate development experience.
  • Demonstrated successful end-to-end deal experience, including sourcing, diligence, financial modeling, negotiation, execution, and integration.
  • Deep understanding of corporate finance, valuation, and transaction structuring; comfortable navigating legal documents, term sheets and deal negotiations.
  • Ability to think long-term about where we need to go from a growth, M&A, and market leadership perspective and capable of driving results to get us there.
  • Self-starter with intellectual curiosity, proactively running processes and testing ideas against strategy.
  • Experience driving complex cross-functional processes with executive-level stakeholders; ability to lead without authority, and influence at the highest levels.
  • Proven domain expertise with experience building business cases and communicating client-specific value propositions, establishing yourself as a trusted advisor.
  • Gravitas and professional maturity; able to represent the company externally and lead high-stakes conversations with CEOs, investors, and boards.
  • Passion for healthcare technology, and a desire to shape the future of healthcare through innovation, partnerships, and thoughtful deal-making.
  • MBA strongly preferred.

Physical/Cognitive Requirements:

  • Prompt and regular attendance at assigned work location.
  • Capability to remain seated in a stationary position for prolonged periods.
  • Eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity to operate keyboard, computer and other office-related equipment.
  • No heavy lifting is expected, though occasional exertion of about 20 lbs of force (e.g., lifting a computer/laptop) may be required.
  • Capability to work with leadership, employees, and members in an appropriate manner.
  • Ability to travel at least once quarterly.

Compensation & Benefits:

  • Pay:
  • The United States new hire base salary target range for this full-time position is:

  • $237,170 - $335,000 + bonus + equity + benefits

  • Starting base salary for you will depend on several job-related factors, unique to each candidate, which may include education; training; skills; years and depth of experience; certifications and licensure; our needs; internal peer equity; organizational considerations; and understanding of geographic and market data. Compensation structures and ranges are tailored to each zone's unique market conditions to ensure that all employees receive fair and great compensation package based on their roles and locations.
