The Role: 

Forge is seeking a Vice President, Data Product Strategy to design and execute the company’s data vision across its marketplace, data products, and investment solutions capabilities. This leader will sit at the intersection of product innovation and commercial strategy, driving the evolution of Forge’s data assets into scalable, high-value products and actionable insights.

This VP will play a critical role in commercializing and driving adoption of proprietary private market data, improving client intelligence, and positioning Forge as the trusted data authority in private markets. 

Location: This role requires 2-3 days a week in office in San Francisco, CA.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategy & Vision

  • Define and lead Forge’s enterprise-wide data strategy aligned with company growth objectives. 
  • Identify opportunities to transform proprietary data into differentiated, revenue-generating products. 
  • Establish Forge as a leader in private market pricing, benchmarks, analytics, content and insights. 

ProductInnovation & Development 

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to design and launch data-driven products (e.g., private company evaluated prices, private market indices, valuation tools, market intelligence platforms, contents and insights). 
  • Drive roadmap prioritization for data offerings, balancing client demand, scalability, and monetization. 
  • Collaborate with Sales and Marketing to package and position data products effectively. 
  • Partner with Engineering and Data teams to scale data pipelines, architecture, and tooling. 

Commercialization & Adoption

  • Develop and execute strategies to commercialize data assets, including subscriptions, APIs, and enterprise licensing. 
  • Support go-to-market efforts, including pricing models, client segmentation, sales enablement, partnerships and alliances. 
  • Partner with internal and external clients to understand data needs and refine offerings. 

Analytics & Insights

  • Oversee advanced analytics initiatives to generate insights on market trends, liquidity, pricing, and investor behavior. 
  • Lead development of thought leadership content leveraging Forge’s unique dataset. 

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Sales, Research, and Go-to-Market teams. 
  • Serve as a senior thought partner to executive leadership on data-driven strategy. 
  • Build and lead a high-performing team across data product, analytics, and strategy functions. 

Qualifications:

Experience 

  • 10+ years in data strategy, data products, analytics, or related roles. 
  • Strong experience in financial services, capital markets, or fintech (private markets experience highly preferred). 
  • Proven track record of building and commercializing data products or platforms. 
  • Experience working with retail, advisory, and institutional investors and understanding their data needs 

Skills & Expertise 

  • Strong analytical background with ability to translate data into strategic insights. 
  • Familiarity with data commercialization models. 
  • Excellent stakeholder management and executive communication skills 

Leadership 

  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives in a fast-paced environment 
  • Experience building and scaling teams 
  • Strategic thinker with a hands-on, execution-oriented mindset 

Preferred Qualifications 

  • Experience with alternative assets or private market datasets (e.g., venture, pre-IPO equity, secondary markets). 
  • Background in building pricing models, indices, or financial benchmarks. 
  • Advanced degree in business, finance, data science, or related field. 

For residents of San Francisco, CA the annual base salary range for this role is $250,000 - $270,000 + annual bonus. Final offers may vary from the amount listed based on geography, candidate experience and expertise, bonus, and other factors.
