About this Role
We’re seeking a Vice President of Engineering to lead CaptivateIQ’s engineering organization through this next phase of growth. Reporting directly to the SVP of R&D, this role is responsible for scaling execution, building world-class teams, and operationalizing engineering in support of product, platform, and enterprise goals.
This is a key executive role for a strong operator and people leader who excels at balancing rapid iteration with foundational investment, technical strategy with organizational design, and cross-functional alignment with engineering excellence.
You’ll be the connective tissue between vision and delivery—helping scale a product-driven culture with a bias for action.
Strategic Leadership & Execution
- Translate company strategy into scalable engineering plans and team structures
- Balance short-term delivery with long-term platform and infrastructure investments
- Drive technical decision-making that supports AI and data initiatives
Organizational Design & People Leadership
- Scale a high-performing org across product, platform, and AI domains
- Manage and mentor engineering leaders and managers; build a deep bench
- Shape and uphold a culture of ownership, autonomy, velocity, and inclusion
Cross-Functional & Executive Partnership
- Collaborate with Product, Design, Finance, Customer Experience, Sales, and Marketing to align engineering with GTM and customer success
- Serve as a credible partner to enterprise customers, both pre- and post-sale
- Contribute to executive strategy, budgeting, planning, and headcount forecasting
Innovation & Delivery
- Support rapid 0→1 product iteration while maintaining quality and learning velocity
- Lead platform efforts that enable multiple products to scale on shared infrastructure
- Work closely with the SVP and co-founders to operationalize technical vision and ensure execution excellence
Requirements
- 10+ years of engineering leadership in high-growth SaaS environments
- Proven success scaling product and platform engineering orgs (100+ engineers)
- Experience leading both 0→1 and scaling phases of product development
- Strong track record managing directors and building diverse, empowered, distributed teams
- Clear communicator and collaborator across product, GTM, and executive functions
- High technical fluency—can challenge and support platform and AI discussions
