This is a hands-on leadership role in a lean, growing biotech. The ideal candidate combines strategic financial/accounting leadership and fundraising experience with a willingness to roll up their sleeves – building financial models, managing budgets and cash runway, improving financial visibility, and developing practical, scalable processes.

- Partner with CEO in ongoing investor relations, including investor outreach, meetings and communications
- Financial Operations, Accounting, & Stewardship
- Own budgeting, forecasting, cash management, and financial reporting
- Oversee accounting, audits, tax, compliance, procurement, and internal controls
- Build and maintain practical financial planning and reporting tools that provide clear visibility into program-level budgets, actual spend, committed expenditures and forecast-to-complete, enabling effective resource allocation and cash runway management
- Administration & Business Operations
- Oversee core administrative functions, including IT, facilities and real estate, ensuring reliable and efficient operations that support scientific progress
- Partner proactively with scientific and corporate teams to anticipate resource and infrastructure needs, and implement simple, scalable processes that enable their work and remove operational obstacles
- Foster a culture of accountability, clarity, and strategic resource stewardship
What You Bring:
- Experience
- Demonstrated success in supporting fundraising efforts (Series A/B/C or beyond) and owning financial storytelling, diligence, and investor communications. IPO experience a plus
- Experience in a platform biotech or technology/AI-driven drug discovery company preferred
- 10–15+ years of progressive finance experience, including 5+ years leading finance and administration at a venture-backed biotech, ideally through the transition from development candidate into IND-enabling studies and early clinical development
- Demonstrated hands-on experience building operating plans, R&D program budgets, and cash runway models tied to R&D milestones, and supporting VC financing rounds, including investor diligence and board reporting
- Experience implementing and/or overseeing accounting and other finance functions (e.g., accounts payable, procurement, etc.)
- Deep strategic finance experience, including long-range planning, portfolio modeling, R&D cost structures, and scenario-based forecasting
- Experience overseeing cross-functional operational teams and administrative functions
- Skills & Attributes
- Experience in fundraising and financing
- Comfortable moving between strategic vision and hands-on execution
- Articulate communicator who can turn complexity into clarity for investors, board members, and internal teams
