Position Summary
GHJ Search & Staffing has partnered with a growing company seeking a VP Finance to lead the day-to-day accounting and finance operations of the company.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own and prepare SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, and other required public company disclosures
  • Lead full-cycle accounting operations, including month-end and quarter-end close
  • Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in compliance with GAAP, SOX, and ASC 606
  • Prepare and review technical accounting memos and support audits and external reporting requirements
  • Manage and develop a small accounting team (1–2 direct reports)
  • Oversee internal controls, compliance processes, and coordination with external auditors and advisors
  • Maintain and improve accounting processes, policies, and documentation in a fast-paced environment
  • Work closely with cross-functional leaders to support business initiatives and future growth
  • Operate comfortably in the details while maintaining a strategic mindset

Qualifications

  • Public accounting experience required
  • Demonstrated experience preparing and filing SEC reports (10-Ks, 10-Qs)
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, SOX compliance, and revenue recognition under ASC 606
  • Experience managing full-cycle accounting and financial reporting for a public company
  • Prior experience with Microsoft Dynamics strongly preferred
  • CPA designation preferred
  • Proven ability to manage and mentor a small accounting team
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a willingness to get into the weeds
  • Self-starter who thrives in a hands-on, remote work environment
