What team will you be on?

The BlackRock Investment Institute (BII) brings together the firm’s expertise to generate proprietary research and provide insights on the global economy, markets, geopolitics and long-term asset allocation – all to help our clients and portfolio managers navigate financial markets.

Why is your role important?

  • The Vice President will play a key role in driving BlackRock's thought leadership. The role will focus primarily on geopolitical and policy research and writing, but will also have the opportunity to participate in projects focused on corporate affairs and firm strategy.

  • This role will report to the Director of Geopolitical Research and Strategy at BlackRock, working in close partnership with the Chairman of BII.

  • In this capacity, the Vice President will have the opportunity to contribute to executive-level decision-making across a range of areas, furthering BlackRock's mission to help more and more people experience financial wellbeing.

What will you be doing?

  • The Vice President will create executive-level presentations and talking points for the Chairman of BII to use with internal audiences (e.g., Board of Directors, Global Executive Committee), clients and other external audiences (e.g., media, conferences).

  • The Vice President will be a key contributor to the BII geopolitical risk initiative - drafting content and coordinating activities related to the BII Geopolitical Risk Dashboard – as well as other research and thought leadership initiatives at BlackRock.

  • This role will provide broad support to the office of the chairman, including assessing incoming opportunities and business requests, preparing briefing memos and coordinating other strategic efforts.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor’s or equivalent degree with a strong record of academic achievement and 5-7 years of professional experience.

  • A strong interest and background in geopolitics, public policy, and corporate affairs.

  • The ability to prepare detailed, high-quality briefing materials, speeches, and persuasive, fact-based research while balancing multiple projects in collaboration with partners and senior leaders.

  • A desire to work in a fast-paced environment with a dedication to excellence and high attention to detail.

  • A strong work ethic and a high degree of professional integrity.

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$137,500.00 - USD$194,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.

Our hybrid work model

BlackRock’s hybrid work model is designed to enable a culture of collaboration and apprenticeship that enriches the experience of our employees, while supporting flexibility for all. Employees are currently required to work at least 4 days in the office per week, with the flexibility to work from home 1 day a week. Some business groups may require more time in the office due to their roles and responsibilities.
