Job Purpose:

Since its inception in 2013, the BlackRock Educational Academy (BEA) has been an industry leading academic platform, providing real time education from a suite of expert practitioners, and meeting the educational needs of many clients globally, while also meeting a suite of contractual obligations to deliver knowledge year over year.

Through these live events, both in person and virtual, multiple times a year and the ‘always on’ educational platform, we deliver various training opportunities for clients across the year to learn.

Role Description:

The role will be a key member and Head of the BlackRock Educational Academy (BEA) team, responsible for the design, implementation and content creation of the BlackRock Educational Academy.

We are seeking a professional who is skilled at leading cross-functionally, translating new ideas into action, addressing obstacles and championing a sense of shared accountability across stakeholder teams across BlackRock. The role will have a mandate to execute existing BEA programs within 2026, oversee and to continue to evolve the program to meet our client’s educational needs for the future.

We are looking for an individual who will proactively contribute ideas, execute on creating critical content, and is passionate about the ongoing mission of being a student of the markets, technology and our clients. Given the broad range of projects and cross-functional nature of the role, the candidate should feel comfortable engaging across business lines, including interacting with senior stakeholders. The right candidate must also have strong project management skills, being able to oversee and manage complex client events multiple times a year.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Partner with sales teams (including leadership), product strategists and portfolio groups to bring awareness on the BEA offerings and have their clients engage with our programs.
  • Communicate regularly with key stakeholders to ensure the BEA program of events meets the client needs, evolves to incorporate various parts of the BlackRock business lines (especially where acquisitions occur) and tailors learning to be meet at regional needs.  
  • Support sales learning through available technology including third party tools and BlackRock learning programs.
  • Manage relationships with vendors and internal learning partners to stay connected to wider firm initiatives.
  • Research, identify and recommend best practices for education initiatives using both existing and new content.
  • Meet our contractual client obligations by managing and overseeing the BEA annual program. Manage the dedicated events support and act as the go to strategy development and business liaison for all events.
  • Identify opportunities to raise the profile and ultimately utilization of BEA across the firm
  • Identify strategic partnerships to embed BEA into large organizational learning and development initiatives
  • Manage key internal partnerships with our Legal & Compliance team and stakeholders, such as key leaders, previous presenters and hosts of the events.
  • Manage the budget across the BlackRock Educational Academy (BEA) team and the Events team with Finance and Human Resources.

Qualifications:

  • 6-8 years’ work experience, preferably in sales, training and/or learning and development
  • Experience and passion around developing a culture of learning and growing people
  • High energy, flexible, motivated individual with a commitment to excellence and interest in learning
  • Self-motivated and able to partner across business functions
  • Ability to represent BlackRock in a professional manner with ability to interface directly and substantively with senior sales, business leaders and senior clients
  • Familiarity with B2B selling model or previous sales experience
  • Strong leadership, project management and manager skills

For New York, NY Only the salary range for this position is USD$137,500.00 - USD$194,000.00 . Additionally, employees are eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, and benefits including healthcare, leave benefits, and retirement benefits. BlackRock operates a pay-for-performance compensation philosophy and your total compensation may vary based on role, location, and firm, department and individual performance.
