Vice President of Product Management – CNAPP, AppSec and AI Security
Location: Foster City, California (Min 3 days mandatory in office)
The Position
Qualys is seeking an experienced VP of Product Management to lead a high-growth, emerging market multi-product portfolio that includes TotalCloud (CNAPP), TotalAppSec (ASPM), and TotalAI (AI-SPM). The ideal candidate will have complete 360-degree ownership of Cloud, Container, Application and AI Security product line end to end, both inbound and outbound product management responsibilities.
The ideal candidate must have experience of leading a globally distributed team of 10+ product leaders (VPs/Dirs) and have an experience of leading large multi-product portfolio. You are expected to be a subject matter expert in CNAPP and ASPM with some experience in AI, its ecosystem, and its emerging security needs. You will work closely with team members to align product roadmap plans with customer requirements within both the private sector and federal and government space.

This leader will have the autonomy to shape Qualys’ emerging security portfolio business, owning both product strategy and execution while working cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and go-to-market teams. They will drive portfolio decisions, prioritize investments, and ensure Qualys remains competitive in key security segments. With engineering resources of 200+ and a growing security product team of ~10, this role will be central to scaling security as a core business.
What You Will Be Doing
Product Ownership: TotalCloud (CNAPP), TotalAppSec (ASPM), and TotalAI (AI-SPM)

Business Ownership and Responsibilities
 

  • Be the ‘Business Owner’ of a product portfolio and constantly think about how to grow the revenue, every feature being prioritized and shipped, think about monetization, think about cross-product synergies.
  • Do the regular business analysis of the product’s revenue and understand and report on various metrics such as cross-sell, up-sell, expansion, renewal, and come up with a business plan to improve on each of the metric and present to the leadership team.
  • Pipeline and Lead Generation -come up with campaign ideas to generate leads for the business and execute the plan to convert the pipeline to close won.
  • Pricing and Packaging – evaluate various monetization options, including freemium, premium, and packaging with other Qualys products etc. to drive the customer adoption and revenue growth
  • Product-led-growth (PLG) / Product-Led-Sales (Sales) – Come up with new ideas to drive PLG/PLS sales motion to build and drive Pipeline – be innovative and think about the various digital marketing and demand gen campaigns to manage leads – acquire, nurture, and convert them to paid customers

Team Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of ~10 product managers, setting clear priorities, fostering a high-performance culture, and ensuring a strong execution rhythm.

Outbound Product Management Responsibilities:
 

  • Develop sales enablement collateral, including customer product presentations, decks and demo scripts.
  • Developing messaging and product positioning in collaboration with PM and PMMs leads.
  • Research the competitive landscape, determine how competitors are positioned and develop optimized positioning strategies and support documents for the CNAPP, ASPM, and AI-SPM.
  • Educate the sales team on how to address competitors in the field with Qualys’ unique positioning.
  • Develop collateral and be an expert on cloud-native technology and terminology.
  • Be an expert in explaining the product to sales and be involved with demos and presentations to customers.
  • Foster strong relationships with customers to gather feedback, understand pain points, and translate insights into product requirements.
  • Design, deliver, and train the Qualys Sales Team on value-based demonstration of our products

Inbound Product Management Responsibilities:
 

  • Own Product vision, roadmap, and execution for CNAPP, ASP,M and AI-SPM.
  • Define, evangelize, and maintain the strategy, vision, and execution, including GTM strategy.
  • Contribute to running a cross-functional team (Product Management, UX, Engineering, Sales).
  • Establish relationships with customers and use their input to distill the many requests into a roadmap that achieves maximum impact.

What We Need from You:
 

  • Proven track record leading and scaling security products, with experience across multiple security domains (e.g., cloud and container security, application security, and AI Security).
  • Deep understanding of the security market, including the competitive landscape, regulatory requirements, and evolving customer needs.
  • Experience managing a portfolio of security products, making data-driven decisions on investment, prioritization, and go-to-market focus.
  • Hands-on product management experience at a VP level, with the ability to dive deep into execution while maintaining a strategic vision.
  • Strong GTM expertise, including experience working closely with sales, marketing, and customer success to drive adoption and revenue growth.
  • Proven ability to drive product-market fit, particularly in high-growth, competitive markets.
  • Track record of building and leading high-performing product teams, fostering a culture of execution, ownership, and accountability.
  • Ability to work cross-functionally with engineering, sales, and marketing to align product vision and business outcomes.
  • Strong analytical and decision-making skills, balancing technical feasibility, market opportunity, and business impact.
  • Executive presence and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across the organization and engage with C-level leaders.
  • Bachelor’s degree in science, technology, or engineering; MBA or equivalent experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in product management or 8+ years of experience in technical leadership, solution architecture, or pre-sales engineering, with a focus on cloud security products and solutions.

Annual Salary Guidelines: $240,000 - $275,000
