Description

Movement Labs is a movement incubator. Your work will help fire the Trump Administration and recruit thousands of candidates for 100,000 elections that go uncontested every year.

Movement Labs is a fast-paced environment, where we are laser-focused on testing and scaling what we can prove works. We work hard, and the environment evolves rapidly. We are adaptable, nimble, and shift quickly as needed to meet the moment. We are looking for candidates that thrive in this type of environment.

As the VP of Program Impact, you represent Movement Labs’ fundraising perspective. You hold the viewpoint of sustainability and growth for our crucial program incubation efforts. This role will manage Movement Labs’ fundraising team, including the CEO. The VP of Program Impact will be our chief ambassador, imbuing staff and leadership with inspiration and training to help create a culture of stewardship of large donors. You’ll have the ability to request a budget to develop a small or mid-level donor program aligned with your creative vision to support new programs. We require someone to be at least comfortable with the language of evidence and randomized controlled trials (actual knowledge of statistics isn’t required). This role is fully remote.

Responsibilities

  • Connect program pilots to potential funders. We’ve got lots of ideas, both outlandish and great. You know exactly who would want to fund them and you’re ready to roll up your sleeves and make it happen.
  • Up-level CEO fundraising efforts. The current fundraising team provides basic support that facilitated tens of millions of dollars raised in 2024. You’ll attempt to improve on this.
  • Hold key relationships with donors. You’ll personally hold relationships with folks that can give between $50,000-$500,000.
  • Coach VPs to be fundraisers. Our VPs have some fundraising experience but they need your help getting into top form.
  • Management & Leadership. You’ll coach, mentor, and support Development Team members, helping to develop their skills and providing opportunities to grow. You will participate in meetings and projects to advance the organizational vision collaboratively with other senior directors while representing the needs of your team.
  • Develop new donation streams. While we have 13,000 volunteers on our Slack, we haven’t invested in any fundraising outside of our largest donors. This open space is your opportunity.
Requirements

Our preferred candidate will have many of these characteristics and experience:

  • An exceptional communicator. Unlike this job description, you don’t use jargon or extra words.
  • An extremely entrepreneurial and unflappable manager. We incubate lots of things that die. It’s not a problem for you when plans change, and you’re comfortable with ambiguity and building structures that can withstand change.
  • Experience raising money for political organizations. You’ve worked in organizations with c3 and c4 and/or PAC vehicles for at least 10 years. You understand policy, party messaging, and grassroots organizing. You’ve solicited six-figure gifts. You can make complex political concepts and experimental methods both accessible and inspiring to donors who aren’t political insiders while also knowing how to work with donor advisors who are more focused on data and measurement.
  • A strong track record in managing people. You can motivate a high-performing team to knock it out of the park according to the metrics you helped set. As a manager, you know how to delegate skillfully and give meaningful feedback. You have experience holding a team accountable and providing support and direction for growing edges. You are well organized and have excellent time management skills. You have experience managing staff who work remotely. You can manage up effectively to get buy-in from the CEO and manage side-ways to get peer support.
  • An experienced strategist. You are proven to build, drive, and evaluate new fundraising initiatives. You thrive as a key leadership team member and are driven to impact the entire organization through your work.

Our preferred candidate may have some of these characteristics and experience:

  • You understand the national political fundraising landscape.
  • You understand how to prove whether a program has worked using quantitative metrics, including randomized control trials.
Benefits
  • Annual salary of $140,000 - $170,000 as part of a transparent salary structure with clear levels of advancement based on milestones met. Plenty of upside potential for successful candidates.
  • Excellent health, dental, and vision benefits, 401(k) matching, and unlimited Paid Time Off.
  • This role is a full-time, remote position that may require some travel.
  • This position is not eligible for the collective bargaining unit.

We’re looking for candidates with a wide range of skills and experience. If you’re excited about the job, even if you don’t match all the characteristics, we encourage you to apply.

Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis. The application process includes a first round interview, a paid exercise, a second round interview, and a final interview with the CEO. We hope candidates will start by mid-July.

Referral bonus: If you refer a candidate who is hired for this role and remains with Movement Labs for 120 days, you will receive a referral bonus of up to $2,000 (may be split if the same candidate is referred by multiple people). Please email your referrals to ([email protected]) before the candidate applies. Movement Labs will confirm your eligibility if your referred candidate is hired.
