Galvanize USA | Video Editing Request for Proposals

Project Scope

Galvanize USA is seeking contract support from an experienced vertical video editor to provide content creation and editing support across multiple digital programs and brands. The contractor will work with Galvanize USA staff to develop engaging, platform-native short-form vertical video content using available assets (footage, graphics, text, music, and provided direction). The contractor will identify appropriate assets where needed, provide 1-2 rounds of rough drafts for review, and deliver final posting-ready files in platform-appropriate formats. The contractor will need to use their own editing software to complete the work.

The contractor is expected to be on top of social media trends and deeply fluent in vertical video formats and platform norms (TikTok, Instagram Reels, YouTube Shorts). This role requires someone who can work efficiently from briefs, make smart creative decisions under quick turnaround deadlines (frequently 24 to 48 hours), and deliver high-volume, high-quality content that feels authentic and platform-native.

No original filming will be required. The contractor will work with found footage, licensed assets, graphics, and provided direction to create final posting-ready content.

Timeline & Budget

  • Timeline: As soon as possible through December 18, 2026
    • Estimated at approximately 20 hours/week, though applicants should propose the level of effort needed to successfully complete the scope of work.
  • Budget: up to $25,000 project budget, unless otherwise approved in writing by Galvanize USA and Galvanize Action.
  • Contractor requirements: Selected contractor/editor must submit a completed W-9 or W-8 form prior to beginning work.

Deliverables

Weekly Vertical Video Production

  • 12–25 short-form vertical videos per week, each under 3 minutes in length, with one to two rounds of revisions based on feedback before final delivery
  • Videos will be created for platform-native distribution across Instagram Reels, TikTok, YouTube Shorts, and similar vertical formats
  • Creative will be based on established creative briefs, brand guidelines, and direction provided by Galvanize USA staff
  • Mix of branded creative (following established templates and voice) and bespoke concept development
  • The contractor will source and select music/sound when directed, or will follow specific direction on music/audio selection provided by staff

Asset Sourcing

  • Identify, select, and integrate appropriate video footage, graphics, and visual assets from Galvanize USA-provided sources, licensed stock libraries, or other approved sources
  • Ensure all assets are licensed for commercial use and meet copyright/licensing requirements

Final Delivery Format

  • Deliver final posting-ready videos in platform-appropriate vertical formats (9:16 aspect ratio preferred for TikTok/Instagram Reels, with options for YouTube Shorts compatibility)
  • All final deliverables produced under this engagement will become the property of Galvanize USA / Galvanize Action upon payment in full.

Submission Requirements

Proposals will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Proposals will be evaluated based on completeness, alignment with the project scope, and overall fit.
