Support personal injury cases by opening and managing auto insurance claims, verifying coverage and liability, coordinating property damage inspections and repairs, communicating with adjusters, documenting claim activity, and maintaining organized case files and records using case management systems.
We are seeking a detail-oriented Virtual Auto Insurance Claims Assistant to support our Personal Injury team. This role is responsible for communicating with insurance companies, opening new claims, obtaining coverage and liability information, managing property damage claims, updating case files, and providing administrative support throughout the life of a client's case. The ideal candidate is organized, professional on the phone, and comfortable managing multiple tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities:
Insurance Claims Management
- Open auto insurance claims with liability and first-party carriers
- Verify insurance coverage and policy information
- Obtain liability decisions and claim status updates
- Follow up with adjusters regarding pending claims
- Document all claim activity in the case management system
Property Damage Coordination
- Assist clients with property damage claims
- Coordinate vehicle inspections, estimates, repairs, and total loss claims
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding rental vehicles and settlements
- Follow up until property damage claims are resolved
Administrative Support
- Request and gather insurance declarations, photographs, and other claim documents
- Upload and organize documents within the case management system
- Maintain accurate notes and records
- Monitor task lists and follow-up deadlines
- Assist with general file maintenance
Qualifications:
- Strong customer service and phone etiquette
- Experience working with insurance companies or claims (preferred)
- Experience in a personal injury law firm (preferred but not required)
- Ability to multitask and manage a high-volume workload
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and web-based software
- Comfortable learning case management software
