About the role

  • The Vice President of Business Development is responsible for developing, negotiating, and closing new business opportunities across Manhead's commercial business lines, including Tour Merchandise, E-Commerce, Retail & Licensing, VIP Experiences, and future growth initiatives.
  • This role is intended for a connected music industry executive with an established network of relationships throughout the entertainment industry. Working closely with the Chief Revenue Officer, the Vice President of Business Development will leverage those relationships to expand Manhead's client roster, develop strategic partnerships, and drive long-term revenue growth. The role will also help strengthen client retention and support contract renewals by maintaining executive-level relationships with key clients and identifying opportunities to expand existing partnerships across Manhead's business lines.


What you'll do

  • Develop, qualify, negotiate, and close new business opportunities across all Manhead business lines in alignment with the Company's go-to-market strategy.
  • Leverage an established network of industry relationships while cultivating new partnerships with artists, managers, business managers, attorneys, agents, promoters, record labels, and other key decision makers.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage strategic opportunities from initial outreach through execution with the Chief Revenue Officer, Business Affairs, and other internal stakeholders.
  • Develop commercial proposals and partnership structures that maximize value for both Manhead and prospective clients.
  • Maintain a qualified sales pipeline capable of supporting the Company's growth objectives.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all business development activity within HubSpot.
  • Represent Manhead at client meetings, conferences, concerts, festivals, and other industry events.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure the successful onboarding and execution of new client partnerships.
  • Stay informed on industry trends, competitive activity, management changes, artist lifecycle events, contract renewals, and other trigger events that create new business opportunities.

Key Performance Indicators

Performance will be evaluated based on:

  • Development and conversion of a qualified sales pipeline.
  • Achievement of annual new business revenue objectives.
  • Win rate on Strategic Accounts (Top 25 / Top 50).
  • Growth across multiple Company business lines.
  • Gross profit contribution and quality of business secured.
  • Compliance with Company CRM (HubSpot) standards and protocols.
  • Client retention and successful renewal of partnerships agreements.

Qualifications

  • Existing, active network of relationships within the music and entertainment industries.
  • Proven success sourcing, negotiating, and closing high-value commercial partnerships.
  • Strong understanding of the live entertainment, touring, artist management, and merchandise industries.
  • Exceptional communication, relationship-building, presentation, and negotiation skills.
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to evaluate commercial opportunities from both a revenue and profitability perspective.
  • Demonstrated commitment to CRM discipline, including accurate opportunity management and activity tracking within HubSpot or a comparable CRM platform.
  • Self-motivated, entrepreneurial, and results-oriented.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as business needs require.

Travel will be required to support business development efforts. Reasonable business expenses will be reimbursed in accordance with Company policy.

Success in this role will be measured not only by revenue generated, but also by the quality, profitability, and long-term value of the business secured. The Vice President of Business Development is expected to serve as a collaborative leader and a positive ambassador for Manhead throughout the industry.
