About the Company

Founded by pioneers in computational geometry and design, FEA, HPC manufacturing, and software architecture, InfinitForm stands at the forefront of engineering GenAI software. The company’s transformative platform streamlines the design-to-manufacturing process, integrating seamlessly with various manufacturing methods to optimize cost, speed, efficiency, and performance.

InfinitForm unifies computational geometry, physics-based simulation, and various manufacturing constraints into a single generative engine that produces manufacturable, lightweight and high performance prismatic designs. By collapsing analysis, optimization, and DFM into one workflow, our platform reduces engineering cycles from days or weeks to minutes – driving significant improvements in cost, performance, and innovation velocity.

Backed by leading investors, we raised a $12.7M Seed round in May 2025 and are now scaling our team ahead of our 2026 launch.

The Role

We’re looking for a hands-on, strategic VP of Engineering who can blend technical leadership, deep individual contribution, and strong team mentorship.

This person will guide the architectural evolution of our platform, personally drive early execution on core technical components, and scale the engineering team. They’ll introduce best-in-class development practices that help us ship breakthrough product innovation with reliability and speed.

You’ll partner closely with the CEO and Product team to shape InfinitForm into a category-defining platform, and you’ll complement a deep technical foundation — including six PhDs in computational geometry, simulation, and generative design — by bringing world-class engineering rigor and production-quality execution.

This is a rare opportunity to own engineering excellence at an early-stage company with ambitious goals.

Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Architecture

  • Own the platform architecture and long-term technical direction — built for performance, scale, and reliability
  • Write and review code for foundational systems during the early stages, accelerating execution and setting engineering standards for the team
  • Introduce modern engineering practices: automation, observability, testing, secure-by-default
  • Lead technical discussions and tradeoffs with broad architectural impact
  • Build a system that enables rapid iteration while maintaining stability and trust

Execution & Delivery Excellence

  • Drive predictable, high-velocity delivery of roadmap milestones
  • Define and track engineering KPIs for performance, reliability, and quality
  • Strengthen CI/CD, automated testing, and release pipelines for faster, safer deployments
  • Balance technical debt with visible product innovation in partnership with Product

Team Building & Organizational Scale

  • Recruit, retain, and mentor exceptional engineers and managers; scale the team
  • Build a culture centered on ownership, transparency, rigor, and continuous improvement
  • Establish clear role definitions, career ladders, and repeatable recruiting processes

Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Partner with Product and Design on prioritization to ensure customer and business alignment
  • Communicate technical concepts, risks, and tradeoffs clearly across the organization
  • Support Sales and Customer teams on adoption, integration, and technical positioning

Success Looks Like

  • Roadmap shipped predictably, consistently, and with high technical quality
  • Architecture scales with customer complexity and usage
  • Engineering velocity meaningfully improves through automation and process discipline
  • InfinitForm becomes known for engineering excellence — and attracts top talent

Qualifications

  • 10+ years in software engineering roles, including 4+ years leading managers
  • Proven experience building or scaling engineering teams in a leading technology organization known for high engineering rigor
  • Hands-on technical depth in software development environments (C++, CUDA, Python, Javascript) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) with ability to code, review, and architect across the full stack during early-stage
  • Strong systems architecture and infrastructure fundamentals — distributed systems, secure cloud environments, and performance-driven design
  • Proven track record of shipping complex software to production at high reliability
  • Excellent communication skills — crisp problem framing and accountability setting
  • Los Angeles / Orange County area residency is preferred for a hybrid work environment. We are open to a remote environment for exceptional candidates.

Nice-to-Have Experience

  • Applied AI/ML in production environments
  • Manufacturing, CAD/CAM, simulation, or industrial software
  • Early-stage startup scaling (Seed → Series B+)

Why Join InfinitForm?

  • Build the future of physical product design with real-world GenAI
  • Partner directly with a deeply technical Founder/CEO
  • Competitive compensation with meaningful equity ownership
  • A rare opportunity to own the engineering function of a breakthrough platform at its inflection point

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
