About This Role

An Executive Partner (EP) in the Forrester executive program for technology executive is a client’s trusted adviser and thought partner. By building deep relationships with clients and their teams, this role will:

  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of a client’s key priorities, company environment, and personal aspirations.

  • Provide candid, actionable feedback on strategies/initiatives.

  • Help each client identify and make decisions critical to success.

  • Bring the best of the Forrester ecosystem (spanning research, consulting, and events) to clients in a timely and tailored fashion.

In the process, the this individual will help senior technology executives and their teams develop customer-focused, high performance IT strategies that allow their organizations to adapt to change, be resilient to shocks, and enable the creativity of its people.

 

The successful candidate will also play a critical role in the operation of the internal Forrester research and sales ecosystems. As a full member of the Forrester Research organization, EPs identify potential research topics, connect researchers with forward-looking clients, and participate in research interviews. In partnership with sales, EPs communicate Forrester’s value proposition to clients, identify opportunities for consulting support, and contribute directly to Forrester’s revenue goals for the executive programs business.

 

Job Description

The CIO Executive Partner is primarily responsible for client delivery and retention; the EP also plays a key role in identifying sales expansion opportunities for Forrester. They must possess the relevant executive-level technology experience and strategic thought-leadership to challenge clients’ thinking. Specifically, the Executive Partner will:

  • Serve as a strategic business advisor to executive program clients, advising them by applying Forrester’s research and drawing upon their own practitioner experience.

  • Manage 15 to 20 senior client relationships.

  • Partner with sales and customer service teams to deepen client-account relationships.

  • Create a comprehensive delivery plan that is grounded in Forrester intellectual property (e.g., decision tools, frameworks, and research).

  • Represent the voice of the customer to assist Research with content creation.

  • Provide proactive business development support to Forrester’s sales organization, helping to develop and nurture existing opportunities identified by sales.

  • Be a thought leader in the technology space by representing Forrester in social media channels and by speaking at external events.

 

Job Requirements

  • Fifteen-plus years of proven experience in technology leadership either as:

  • a chief information officer (CIO), chief technology officer (CTO), chief digital officer (CDO), or other senior technology executive; or

  • a senior consultant to the those in technology leadership roles.

  • Experience working at or with the US federal government is a plus.

  • A United States security clearance (or the willingness to gain one) is a plus.

  • Intimate familiarity and understanding of the IT industry and the role of the CIO (including digital transformation, executive management, change management, cybersecurity, business model innovation, automation and intelligent systems, digital strategy, and trends, use of metrics, etc.).

  • In depth understanding of the business value of IT and the alignment of business and IT strategies.

  • A strong executive presence and the ability to create positive impressions with C-suite executives through all channels of communication.

  • Strong collaboration, partnering, and influencing skills.

  • Embody Forrester’s values of client-focus, collaboration, courage, integrity, and quality.

  • Superior presentation skills.

Eligibility for US Security Clearance: This position may require the candidate to be eligible for a U.S. Government Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for access to sensitive information. Candidates must either currently hold an active Top Secret clearance or be able to obtain and maintain one in accordance with U.S. government security requirements. Preference will be given to candidates with an active Top Secret clearance or who are able to receive interim approval while their application is pending with the US government. Candidates will be subject to a comprehensive background investigation conducted by the US government.  Current US government criteria requires US citizenship and drug testing (inclusive of marijuana) for Top Secret security clearance.  The US government may apply more stringent criteria for interim Top Secret approval. 

Please note that the base salary range indicated here is inclusive of all applicable US geographies listed in this requisition, with the exception of New York City, San Francisco, and Georgia.  This salary range is based upon the position as described in the job listing.  The offered compensation may vary within this range and is dependent upon the successful candidate’s primary work location, experience, training, education, and credentials.

Base salary range: $180,000 - 294,000

Base salary range for Georgia: $162,000 - $264,000

Base salary range for New York City, NY and San Francisco, CA: $207,000 – 339,000

For employees based in Washington State, the percentage listed here is an estimated bonus target as a percentage of base salary, in accordance with the Forrester Employee Bonus plan. Individual and company performance, as well as other eligibility criteria, will determine the actual incentive amount.
