Your role in our mission

At Prosper, our mission is to Advance Financial Well-Being. As the Head of Product Management & User Experience, you aren't just managing a roadmap; you are the architect of the financial tools that help everyday people gain control over their futures. By overseeing Product Management, UX Design, and Product Analytics, you will ensure our personal loan marketplace and burgeoning credit card portfolio are built on a foundation of deep user empathy and rigorous data integrity. In this role, you carry the torch for our mission, turning abstract financial goals into tangible, high-performing products that empower our customers.

How you’ll make an impact

  • Unified Product Strategy: Define and execute a multi-year roadmap that scales our core lending products and credit card portfolio, ensuring a cohesive experience across all touchpoints.
  • Data-Driven Innovation: Lead the Product Analytics and Data Science function to transform raw data into actionable insights, driving experimentation, optimizing unit economics, and predicting customer behavior to hit our revenue and profit targets.
  • Design Excellence: Oversee the UX and Design organization to ensure Prosper’s products are intuitive, accessible, and emotionally resonant, reducing friction in the borrowing and investing journeys.
  • Cross-Functional Partnership: Partner closely with Engineering, Risk, Compliance and Marketing to ensure products are not only innovative and user-friendly but also secure and compliant with the regulated fintech industry.
  • Full-Funnel Optimization: Work with Engineering and Marketing to manage the end-to-end user lifecycle, using analytics to identify drop-off points and UX to solve them.
  • Marketplace Equilibrium: Optimize the delicate balance between borrowers and investors by leveraging sophisticated data modeling to ensure liquidity and satisfaction on both sides of our marketplace.
  • Interdisciplinary Leadership: Build and mentor a high-performing, outcome focused team of Product Managers, Designers, and Analysts, fostering a culture of cross-functional collaboration, with "extreme ownership."
  • Compliance & Integrity: Ensure that all design and data practices meet the rigorous regulatory standards of the FinTech industry while maintaining the highest level of consumer trust.

Who you’ll build with

  • Reporting to the CEO and working in close alignment with the President & CFO, CTO, and General Counsel, you will translate Prosper’s business vision into a high-impact technical roadmap that ensures every product initiative drives our financial and strategic goals.
  • You will collaborate daily with the Heads of Marketing, Credit, and Operations to deliver a seamless borrower and investor experience.
  • You will mentor and empower a high-performing organization of 35+, driving product excellence and innovation through your leadership of the Sr. Director of Product Management, the Sr. Director of Product Conversion & Analytics, and the Sr. Director of User Experience.

Skills that will help you thrive

  • Executive Leadership: 10+ years of experience in Product, with at least 5 years at a VP or Director level. Proven success managing a combined organization of Product, Design, and Data/Analytics professionals.
  • Growth Scaling: A track record of driving significant revenue growth (e.g., scaling from $200M to $500M+) through data-led product development.
  • FinTech & Regulatory Mastery: Deep understanding of the credit lifecycle, personal loans, and credit card portfolios, including a working knowledge of compliance (FCRA, ECOA, etc.).
  • Analytical Powerhouse: Advanced proficiency in product analytics frameworks (A/B testing, cohort analysis, LTV modeling) and experience working with modern data stacks.
  • Design Sensibility: A strong advocate for UX best practices and design thinking; you understand that in FinTech, "trust" is built through seamless and transparent user interfaces.
  • Marketplace Dynamics: Experience managing complex, dual-sided ecosystems where user experience and financial risk must be balanced perfectly.
  • Strategic Communication: The ability to present a unified product and data narrative to the Board of Directors, ensuring alignment between technical output and business outcomes.
  • Academic foundation: A Bachelor’s degree in a technical, analytical, or business-related discipline; a Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.

Resources to help you Prosper

  • A hybrid connection: We believe in the "best of both worlds" - a hybrid environment (2 days/week in our SF office) that balances high-touch collaboration with the flexibility of remote work.
  • Invested in your future: A competitive salary and a 401(k) with a 5% company match to help you build long-term financial security.
  • Holistic well-being: We provide the resources you need to thrive, from flexible time off and paid parental leave to an annual wellness allowance and comprehensive health coverage.
  • Professional & personal growth: Take advantage of a suite of premium perks, including Udemy access, childcare assistance, pet insurance, and a bevy of additional savings through Beneplace.
