About the Role:

As VP of Product at Axion, you’ll work with the CEO and Executive leadership to refine the overall product strategy for a company that’s transforming how manufacturers evolve their products with AI. You’ll own the roadmap, scale the product organization, and partner closely with engineering and go-to-market teams to translate deep customer pain points into scalable, high-impact solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role to build a product team from scratch- ideal for a builder who thrives in high-growth, high-impact environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Axion's product strategy, roadmap, and execution.

  • Build and mentor a world-class product team, establishing best-in-class processes for discovery, prioritization, and delivery.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, design, sales, and customer success to ensure customer value translates into scalable platform impact.

  • Define and track key metrics around defect detection accuracy, time-to-insight, and customer ROI to guide iteration and investment.

  • Partner with leadership to shape the company’s long-term vision—how AI can enable customer-centric product iteration.

Requirements:
  • Leadership & Culture

    • 10-15+ years of product management experience, including 5+ years reporting directly to a CEO in a top product leadership role.

    • Proven ability to proactively partner with cross-functional leaders to define, align, and communicate product strategy.

    • Demonstrated success building, mentoring, and retaining top-tier PM and Design talent; is a talent magnet.

    • Experience in high performance product organizations, coupled with experience from scale-ups to define "what good looks like" and sets high standards for execution.

    • Thrives in fast-paced, scaling environments - comfortable with ambiguity and is decisive in prioritization.

    • Comfortable leading hybrid teams; based in SF Bay Area (preferred) or NYC (for exceptional talent); 3-4 in-office days/week.

    • High level of excitement for applying AI to real-world problems or helping American manufacturing.

  • Scale & Process

    • Has built and lead a PM/Design organization of 10+ (including design) and partnered closely with Engineering teams of 50+.

    • Proven experience scaling enterprise B2B SaaS businesses from ~$10M to ~$50M ARR+ within venture-backed, high-growth environment.

    • Experience implementing end-to-end product development processes—road-mapping, quarterly planning, sprint cadences, backlog management etc.

    • Successful delivery of product transformations from early, rough MVPs to polished, reliable, and automated platforms.

    • Participated in the transition from single product to multi-product platforms.

    • Ability to balance customer pull with long-term product vision without drifting into custom builds.

  • Technical Aptitude

    • Experience with data-heavy or multi-product systems.

    • Curiosity and comfort with complex, real-world problem domains (manufacturing, operations, etc.).

    • Fluency applying modern AI/LLM capabilities to real-world workflows and articulating an agentic-first product vision, or ability to learn new technologies like this and apply them.

    • Has built complex, enterprise-grade, products for non tech-native users, with ACV's in the 6/7 figures +.

Who You Are:

You’re a builder and operator who thrives in fast-moving, high-accountability environments. You take pride in getting things done — thoughtfully, efficiently, and without drama. You’re energized by ambiguity, skilled at bringing clarity, and comfortable flexing between strategy and execution.

You value feedback — giving it, receiving it, and acting on it — and you see collaboration as a competitive advantage, not a burden. You’re low-ego but high-agency: you care about winning as a team more than being right individually. You move quickly, communicate directly, and make decisions grounded in impact and data.

You don’t need constant direction — you create momentum. You take ownership for outcomes, and you expect the same from those around you.

How We Operate:

We move fast, work smart, and hold ourselves to a high bar. Axion isn’t a 9–5 — it’s a place for people who take pride in their craft and are motivated by meaningful work. We respect time off and boundaries, but we’re also realistic: hard problems sometimes require weekend pushes or late-night thinking sessions. We support that balance — intensity with respect for recharge.

We stay highly collaborative and connected throughout the day — much of our communication happens over Slack. We move quickly, share feedback often, and keep discussions open so decisions and context flow freely. If you value crisp communication, rapid iteration, and a steady hum of collaboration, you’ll fit right in.

We:
  • Collaborate deeply. Feedback is part of how we build — everyone has a voice, and ideas win on merit.

  • Leave ego at the door. Titles don’t define value; contribution does.

  • Bias toward action. We iterate fast and favor progress over perfection.

  • Communicate with clarity. Direct, transparent, and always in service of the mission.

  • Act like owners. Everyone is accountable for outcomes, not just tasks.

  • Sustain excellence. We push hard but don’t glorify burnout — we’re in this for the long game.

If you want to help shape a company redefining how manufacturing operates — and you thrive in a culture that rewards ownership, speed, and candor — you’ll feel at home here

What We Offer:
  • Work with cutting-edge AI technology making a tangible impact in manufacturing

  • Collaborative, mission-driven team and supportive leadership

  • Generous time off

  • Competitive compensation, equity, and benefits
