If you are energized by building practical operating models, coaching executives, and translating strategy into execution, this is a rare opportunity to create lasting enterprise impact.Job Overview
The VPII of Data Product Manager & Enablement is responsible for defining, operationalizing, and scaling a business-led data product ownership model across LPL Financial. With a strong emphasis on training, decision rights, and execution discipline, this leader will act as a coach, architect, and enabler—empowering business leaders to effectively own data products while partnering closely with technology, risk, and compliance teams. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on building durable capabilities, not theoretical frameworks.
Responsibilities
Establish and Lead the Data Product Ownership Operating Model
  • Define and institutionalize clear roles and decision rights for Data Owners, Data Stewards, and Technical Custodians
  • Set enterprise standards for data product definition, ownership accountability, escalation paths, and decision-making
  • Serve as the central authority for the data product ownership model (without directly owning data assets)
Training & Enablement (Primary Focus)
  • Design and deliver role-based training for Business Data Owners (Director+), Data Stewards, and Technical Custodians
  • Develop scenario-driven training focused on decision rights, risk and compliance considerations, data quality accountability, and change management
  • Build sustainable enablement mechanisms including communities of practice, office hours, playbooks, and case studies
  • Partner with HR and Learning & Development to scale training through onboarding and LMS platforms
Data Product Artifacts & Playbooks
  • Define, maintain, and continuously improve standard CoE artifacts such as Data Product Charters, Canvases, Data Quality Rule templates, access and usage playbooks, and change impact assessments
  • Ensure artifacts are simple, executable, and consistent across data domains
  • Review, coach, and elevate artifact quality across teams
Tools & Technical Enablement
  • Partner with platform and engineering teams to ensure tooling supports ownership, lineage, metadata, data quality, and data contracts
  • Translate ownership and governance requirements into clear tooling expectations
  • Ensure governance is automated and embedded into delivery workflows rather than creating manual overhead
  • Act as a bridge between business intent and technical enforcement
Wealth Management & Regulatory Alignment
  • Apply deep Wealth Management expertise across domains including client and household data, accounts and positions, transactions and performance, and advisor data
  • Ensure data products align with regulatory expectations (SEC, FINRA, privacy) and fiduciary obligations
  • Partner closely with Risk, Compliance, and Legal to ensure data products are defensible and auditable
Executive Engagement & Change Leadership
  • Coach senior business leaders on their responsibilities as Data Owners
  • Provide executive-ready reporting on ownership coverage, data product maturity, adoption, and risk signals
  • Influence across business, technology, and control functions without formal authority
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on data accountability and product thinking

Requirements
  • 12+ years of experience in data, analytics, or product leadership roles
  • Significant experience within Wealth Management or Financial Services
  • Proven success leading and scaling enterprise data or product operating models
