Sunflower Bank, N.A./ First Foundation Advisors is looking for an energetic, highly motivated individual to fill the position of a full-time Wealth Management Advisor II at our Los Angeles, CA Location.

The salary range for this position is $106,200 to $157,200 depending on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.

Summary:

  

The Wealth Management Advisor II is responsible for collaborating and co-managing with the Managing Director in the maintenance of a high-net-worth client base. They will collaborate with the team and independently manage client portfolios while maintaining active contact with existing clients. The Wealth Management Advisor II will also act as a liaison between the client and the rest of the organization for purposes of expanding client relationships across the enterprise’s wealth offerings. The Wealth Management Advisor II will be engaged in asset allocation, investment strategy, and financial planning solutions with the client using discretionary and independent judgment.  While continuing the work with the Managing Director, the Wealth Management Advisor II may begin co-managing client relationships. 

Responsibilities:

  • Support Managing Directors in business development activities and in determining client wealth management needs
  • Work with the Managing Director to maintain and expand client relationships 
  • Work independently and alongside the Wealth Planning department to provide and present financial planning solutions
  • Manage client requests including account setup/paperwork, daily maintenance, execution of service requests, and resolution of service issues
  • Attend and participate in client and/or prospect meetings, and conference calls with clients and the Managing Director 
  • Prioritize and take ownership of client post-meeting action items
  • Document client correspondence utilizing the company CRM system and maintaining client databases according to firm processes and compliance requirements
  • Work with the team to prepare for client and prospect meetings by compiling portfolio allocation and performance reports, ensuring accuracy, and providing status updates on all client wealth management issues
  • Prepare investment proposals to address the complex needs of prospective clients 
  • Responsible for working both independently and with the trading desk to accurately and properly invest, rebalance, and maintain client portfolios relative to their identified and documented investment strategy. 
  • Required to be familiar with investment solutions, trade rationale, and market activity and be able to relay or answer client questions when necessary. 
  • Responsible for working with the Trust Department to perform annual portfolio reviews.
  • Actively participate in department discussions to improve the client service model and enhance client experience
  • Perform the job in accordance with applicable industry laws and regulations as well as the policies and procedures established by the company.
  • Responsible for upholding Fair and Responsible Banking practices and Code of Ethics and Conduct guidelines.
  • Understand and participate in the Bank’s Community Reinvestment Act program.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Education / Experience Preferred:

  • Bachelor’s degree and/or MBA required in Finance
  • Series 65 required
  • Certified Financial Planner (CFP) designation preferred 
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of strong investment management experience
  • Must possess strong sales skills, the ability to recognize sales opportunities, and the drive to pursue them vigorously.
  • Must possess a high level of emotional intelligence and the ability to read situations accurately.
  • Must possess business development, COI development, and creative networking skills.
  • Must have a professional appearance and manner.
  • Must be self-motivated and able to develop a sales culture.
  • Expected to participate in ongoing Sunflower Bank, N.A. seminars and training dealing with Wealth Management sales, marketing, and compliance.
  • Experience analyzing and assessing personal financial planning and investment strategy
  • Must be able to work flexible hours.
  • Must be bondable

Pay is dependent on knowledge, skills, abilities, experience, and location.

The physical demands of this position require the ability to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation. Employees may spend extended periods sitting or standing, using hands to operate computers or other equipment, and reaching for work-related tasks. Regular walking may be required, along with occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, or climbing. The role may involve lifting or moving items weighing up to 10 pounds. Vision requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
