Build and maintain high-performing marketing websites for law firms, optimizing for performance and SEO, while collaborating with design and strategy teams.
We're looking for a mid-to-senior Web Developer (3–5+ years) to build, maintain, and continuously improve high-performing marketing sites for law firm clients. You'll work closely with our design, SEO, and strategy teams to ship work that looks great, loads fast, and converts.
This role lives primarily in WordPress and you'll also be a key player in our migration toward a headless architecture. You should be comfortable working in a decoupled WordPress setup today and excited about helping us move toward a modern front-end stack (Astro or similar) in the near future.
What you'll do
- Build and maintain WordPress websites: custom themes, page builder builds (Elementor, WP Bakery), content updates, and troubleshooting
- Implement designs precisely: responsive layouts, interactions, cross-browser support
- Work within a headless WordPress architecture: connecting WP as a CMS to a decoupled front-end layer
- Support our migration to a modern static-site front end (Astro-first, but experience with Next.js, Nuxt, or comparable frameworks is welcome)
- Improve site performance and Core Web Vitals (LCP, CLS, INP), caching, image optimization, and best practices
- Ship landing pages and experiments for paid campaigns
- Support integrations: forms/CRM, call tracking, analytics, pixel/tag setup, server-side tracking
- Help with technical SEO implementation: schema, redirects, sitemaps, indexation issues, internal linking
- Debug and resolve issues across environments: plugins, theme conflicts, hosting quirks, DNS, SSL
- Collaborate in a team workflow: tickets, code reviews, QA checklists, and documentation
Requirements
- 3–5+ years of professional web development experience
- Solid WordPress experience: custom themes/components, page builders, and hands-on troubleshooting required
- Hands-on experience with headless WordPress (decoupled CMS + front-end framework) required
- Experience with Astro: or a comparable modern static/SSR framework (Next.js, Nuxt, SvelteKit, etc.) required
- Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript skills; comfort with modern responsive implementation
- Familiarity with performance optimization, accessibility basics, and debugging in production
- Must be available and working 9am–6pm EST
Bonus Skills
- Experience with React for front-end components or microsites
- Python + a web framework (Django, Flask) for small services or automations
- Technical SEO depth: structured data, crawl/indexation troubleshooting, log-based thinking
- Hosting/ops experience: WP Engine, Kinsta, Cloudflare, VPS setups
- Analytics instrumentation: GTM, GA4 events, conversion APIs, call tracking platforms
- Experience building reusable WP blocks/components (Gutenberg) or custom plugin work
Benefits
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance
- Company-sponsored 401(k) with matching
- Flexible scheduling within core 9–6 EST hours
- Up to $500 reimbursement for pet adoption fees or vaccinations
- Technology stipend for equipment setup
- Professional development opportunities
