About XBOW

Build the future of offensive security with XBOW. Attackers are already using AI to move faster than defenders can react—we’re creating the platform that puts security ahead in the arms race. Our AI-powered system autonomously discovers, validates, and even exploits vulnerabilities, giving organizations proof-backed results in hours instead of weeks.

Founded by Oege de Moor, creator of GitHub Copilot, and backed by Sequoia, Altimeter, and other leading investors, XBOW is applying cutting-edge AI to one of the world’s most urgent problems. In just over a year, our AI—built by a world-class AI team and legendary security researchers—has uncovered thousands of real-world zero-days across the software billions rely on and achieved the #1 ranking on HackerOne’s global leaderboard.

We’re a team of builders, hackers, and researchers who thrive on solving problems others think are impossible. If you want to push the boundaries of AI, reshape how security is done, and join the group defining this new era of defense — we’d love to talk.

The Role

XBOW is looking for a Director, Web Experience to make xbow.com the clearest, sharpest expression of the XBOW brand, and the place where our story becomes real. This role owns the website as a narrative surface, not a set of pages: the first impression, the trust-builder, and the environment where customers, researchers, and the broader security community understand what XBOW is and why it matters.

You’ll define the web experience strategy and lead execution through internal and external development resources. You’ll work closely with Creative, AR/PR, Paid, Organic Growth, Product Marketing, and leadership to translate XBOW’s breakthroughs into experiences that feel cinematic, credible, and unmistakably us.

This is not a hands-on engineering role. You should be deeply fluent in modern web development, but your job is to direct, shape, and raise the bar: craft the narrative, set standards, build systems, and ship experiences that scale.

What You’ll Do

Own the Website as a Brand System

  • Define what XBOW should feel like on the web: voice, tone, motion, pacing, and structure.

  • Build and evolve the website into a brand system with consistent patterns, templates, and storytelling frameworks.

  • Ensure every web touchpoint reinforces trust, clarity, and XBOW’s edge, without sanding down what makes us different.

  • Establish web as a creative surface that can move fast without becoming messy or inconsistent.

Narrative, Storytelling & Launch Experiences

  • Partner with Creative and AR/PR to turn launches, research releases, and major announcements into web moments that land.

  • Translate complex ideas (AI-driven offensive security, autonomous vulnerability discovery) into experiences that are accessible and compelling without losing technical credibility.

  • Create storytelling standards and reusable narrative modules that scale, from homepage storytelling to deep product explainers to research showcases.

  • Build a “launch-to-web” pipeline that ensures the site updates at the speed of XBOW’s breakthroughs.

Lead Web Execution (Managing Development)

  • Own execution through internal engineers and/or agency partners: scope, timeline, resourcing, requirements, and delivery.

  • Build a clean operating system for web work across Creative, Content, Engineering, and Marketing with high velocity and a high bar.

  • Provide technical direction and guardrails, ensuring the site remains modular, maintainable, and performance-forward as it scales.

  • Drive strong QA, release practices, and governance so the site never becomes fragile or slow.

Craft, Performance & Quality Standards

  • Set and enforce a high bar for craft: interaction design, animation/motion quality, typography, responsiveness, and accessibility.

  • Own web performance and quality across Core Web Vitals, SEO fundamentals, tracking integrity, and overall reliability.

  • Ensure web experiences feel fast and effortless, even when the storytelling is bold and rich.

  • Maintain the balance between expressiveness and precision: the site should be artful, but always clear.

Cross-Functional Influence & Feedback Loops

  • Use web as a lever for organizational alignment, helping teams sharpen messaging and narrative through what ships live.

  • Partner with Paid and Growth to ensure campaigns and landing pages maintain the brand bar and work as cohesive extensions of the site.

  • Work with Organic Growth to make storytelling discoverable without compromising brand quality.

  • Turn user behavior and qualitative feedback into improvements across narrative, structure, and web experience systems.

What You Bring
  • 8+ years of experience owning web experiences for high-growth brands or category-defining companies.

  • Proven ability to treat a website as a brand surface and narrative system, not just a marketing channel.

  • Strong technical fluency with modern web development (React/Next.js ecosystems preferred) and the ability to direct architecture decisions without being the primary implementer.

  • Experience managing internal development teams and/or agency partners, delivering high-quality work under tight timelines.

  • Excellent taste and strong creative instincts: you can define what “world-class” looks like and enforce it.

  • Deep understanding of how narrative, motion, and interaction design shape perception and trust.

  • Strong cross-functional leadership skills and the ability to drive clarity, speed, and alignment across teams.

  • Comfort operating in ambiguity and building systems from scratch.

Bonus (Nice to Have)
  • Experience leading major site rebuilds, web rebrands, or high-velocity launch pipelines.

  • Experience with research-heavy, technical storytelling (AI, cybersecurity, developer tools).

  • Experience building modular systems: design systems, component libraries, scalable CMS architecture.

  • Familiarity with SEO/GEO fundamentals, experimentation programs, and attribution/tracking infrastructure.
