The Role:
IFM is looking for ia dual-skilled Web Developer and Visual Designer—someone equally comfortable writing code and designing visuals. This role owns and maintains a high-performance website, while also producing the visual assets (diagrams, graphics, presentation templates, short videos) that shape how IFM's work is perceived externally.
This is not a purely technical or purely creative role. We need someone who can build when needed, keep the site running smoothly, and carry forward a strong, consistent visual identity—including partnering with our external design agency to ensure continuity of design and though once their engagement winds down.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-today performance and technical health of IFM’s website.
- Work closely with the Social Media Manager and Content Marketing and Editorial Manager to provide visual and graphic design support to IFM’s owned channel content.
- Monitor site speed, security, accessibility and SEO best practices.
- Create, design and produce graphics, diagrams, and infographics that translate complex research/technical concepts into clear visuals.
- Produce short-form video content (editing, motion graphics, social/promo clips) as needed.
- You are not just good at the tactics: You’re also someone who is able to come up with fresh ideas—whether through collaboratively brainstorming with team members, proposing your own creative formats, or staying on top of the latest social media trends so you know what type of visual support to prioritize.
- Track and report on website analytics (traffic, engagement, conversion, etc.) Familiarity with web analytics Google Analytics, Plausible, etc.
- Partner closely with IFM’s external design agency throughout their engagement.
- Own IFM’s visual language, ensuring it stays coherent over time.
Qualifications
- 7-10 years of hands-on experience
- Web development experience (front-end and back-end/CMS familiarity is a plus.)
- Proven ability to adapt style and voice across different formats, platforms and audiences.
- Must have strong Figma skills and experience with design systems, components, and prototyping.
- Comfort moving fluidly between technical and creative work.
- Experience with X, LinkedIn, Instagram, YouTube etc. required
- Strong command of data—from implementing and using various analytics too, to regularly interpreting and reporting insights.
- Experience with short-form video editing/motion graphics
- Passionate about technology, AI, Open Source—intellectually curious and always learning.
