The Skydio team combines deep expertise in artificial intelligence, best-in-class hardware and software product development, operational excellence, and customer obsession to empower a broader, more diverse audience of drone users, from utility inspectors to first responders, soldiers in battlefield scenarios, and beyond.

About the role:

We are looking for a highly motivated Summer Intern to support our Wireless Engineering team in design validation and data analysis. This role focuses on building scalable data processing pipelines and tools that enable efficient analysis of wireless validation data from both bench testing and factory testing environments.

You will work closely with RF and antenna engineers to improve how wireless performance data is collected, processed, and visualized. You will help accelerate product development and manufacturing readiness. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of wireless systems and cloud-based data engineering.
How you'll make an impact (example projects below):

  • Develop automated data processing pipelines to analyze RF and antenna validation data from lab bench testing.

  • Build cloud-based tools and dashboards to streamline factory test data ingestion, processing, and visualization.

  • Improve data quality checks and validation frameworks to ensure reliable wireless performance metrics.

  • Partner with RF engineers to translate test requirements into scalable analysis workflows.

  • Optimize existing scripts and infrastructure to improve efficiency and reproducibility of wireless performance analysis.

  • Contribute to documentation and best practices for wireless data management across development and manufacturing.

What makes you a good fit:

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s (Upcoming junior or senior), Master’s, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

  • Strong fundamentals in wireless systems, RF engineering, or antenna theory.

  • Proficiency in cloud-based development and data processing (e.g., Python, data pipelines, scripting, APIs).

  • Experience working with large datasets and building scalable analysis tools.

  • Familiarity with data visualization tools or frameworks is a plus.

  • Comfortable working in a cross-functional engineering environment.

  • Self-driven, detail-oriented, and eager to learn and contribute in a fast-paced setting.

  • Ability to obtain FAA Part 107 certification within 30 days of engagement start, if required.

Compensation Range: The hourly base salary range for this position is $47/hr for Undergrad, $53/hr for Graduate students, and $58 for PhD students*. Compensation will vary based on factors, including skill level, proficiencies, transferable knowledge, and experience. In addition to base salary, Skydio full-time employees are eligible to enroll in our benefit plans and take advantage of a variety of incentives and stipends.

*For some positions the pay may be dependent upon the individual's regional location.
