Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced Workday Project Manager who is well-versed in the intricacies of Higher Education. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of ERP transformations on campus, academic calendars, shared governance, and the nuances of moving HR, Finance, or Student systems without disrupting faculty, staff, or students. This role is responsible for the end-to-end delivery of projects, including planning, execution, communication, and results.
Key ResponsibilitiesLead full-cycle Workday implementations or large-scale enhancements in a Higher Education environment.
Own the project plan, timeline, budget, risks, and dependencies across multiple Workday modules.
Coordinate internal stakeholders including HR, Finance, Payroll, IT, academic leadership, and external vendors.
Manage system integrators and ensure deliverables align with scope, quality standards, and higher-ed governance models.
Facilitate steering committee meetings, status updates, and executive communications.
Drive change management activities in partnership with functional leads.
Ensure alignment with academic calendars, fiscal years, and regulatory requirements.
Track issues, risks, and decisions with clear escalation paths and resolution plans.
Oversee testing, cutover planning, and go-live readiness.
Support post-production stabilization and transition to steady-state operations.
7+ years of project management experience, with at least 3+ years managing Workday implementations.
Direct Higher Education experience is required (public or private colleges/universities).
Proven delivery of Workday modules such as HCM, Financial Management, Payroll, and Student (preferred, not required).
Strong understanding of Higher Ed governance, shared services, and stakeholder complexity.
Hands-on experience managing system integrators and cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
PMP, PgMP, or Agile certification.
Workday Pro certification.
Experience with multi-institution systems or statewide higher-ed environments.
Familiarity with FERPA, Title IV, and public-sector compliance requirements.
