ABOUT THE POSITION

Generate Capital's San Francisco office is looking for a Workplace Operations Coordinator who will be the heartbeat of our office environment — a warm, proactive, and highly organized individual who takes pride in creating a welcoming, well-run space. This is not a traditional receptionist or facilities role; it's an opportunity for someone who is service-oriented and eager to grow, with a clear path toward a more senior administrative or Executive Assistant role over time. You'll work closely with the broader Admin team and support leadership in keeping the SF office running at its best.

What you will be doing at Generate Capital as the Workplace Operations Coordinator:
  • Provide front desk coverage and serve as the primary in-office point of contact, greeting employees, guests, and vendors with warmth and professionalism — embodying the "white glove" Generate feel from the moment someone walks in

  • Manage front desk operations including visitor check-in, desk assignment coordination, and liaison with property managers for any building-related matters

  • Oversee day-to-day office logistics including back-room inventory management, ensuring all supplies and amenities are fully stocked and organized

  • Handle all incoming and outgoing mail and packages, including shipping, FedEx coordination, receiving checks, and mail sorting

  • Proactively identify and resolve office issues — from broken equipment to vendor performance — with a "fix it now" attitude

  • Provide light administrative support including calendar scheduling and meeting coordination

  • Support visiting executives with on-site logistics including room setup, printing, and coordination

  • Support the transition to a more structured office management function, including managing ongoing vendor relationships and operational workflows; assist with other ad hoc tasks to keep the office operating efficiently

  • Partner with the NY Workplace team to share best practices and maintain consistency across Generate's office locations

Candidate qualifications & core characteristics:
  • 1–3 years of experience in office management, workplace operations, hospitality, reception, or a related customer-facing role

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills and a natural warmth — personality and maturity go a long way in this role

  • Prior experience in a service-oriented environment; hospitality, high-end reception, or executive support backgrounds are a strong plus

  • A proactive, "willing to do anything" attitude — you jump in, fix problems, and don't wait to be asked

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple operational priorities simultaneously

  • Comfort with basic vendor management and an eye for evaluating whether current partners are truly the best option

  • Tech-savvy and comfortable with office automation tools (e.g., visitor management systems, desk check-in platforms)

  • Excellent judgment and discretion in a professional, fast-paced environment

  • Interest in growing into a more senior administrative or Executive Assistant role over time

  • Collaborative leadership style with strong judgment under ambiguity

Generate’s compensation packages are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. Salary decisions take into account a wide variety of factors including, but not limited to: skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, geographic location, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is $75,000 - $90,000. In addition, the compensation package may include a discretionary bonus and other benefits, including health care benefits, retirement benefits, benefits permitting paid days off (including sick leave, parental leave, and paid time off or vacation benefits), and other benefits that must be reported for federal tax purposes. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at the top of this range.

Generate Capital is an equal opportunity employer and does not discriminate against otherwise qualified applicants on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, creed, religion, ancestry, citizenship status, age, sex, marital status, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability or handicap, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state, or local laws.
