Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain organization and reporting on all assigned active and punch list technology projects for the Workplace Technology department
  • Daily activities include project coordination, internal and external project communication, assisting with scheduling technicians and service, and overseeing the overall completion of projects
  • Attend OAC meetings and communicate with internal and external teams based on project deadlines and deliverables based on OAC meetings
  • Responsible for completing Workplace Technology projects on time, on budget, and achieving high customer satisfaction from our customers
  • The majority of this employee's time will be spent managing project timelines and budgets and communicating with customers and internal project team members
  • As part of Hyphn’s #WeNeverSettle Core Value, all Project Managers help to develop best practices for all technology projects, collaborates and shares key learnings after projects, and helps to inform other Hyphn project managers and project team members in those learnings and best practices
  • Maintains regular communication with other Project Managers to ensure all projects are handled using similar and acceptable methods
  • Assists with planning and coordinating project teams regarding Workplace Technology (WPT) installation projects, including project information handoffs with appropriate personnel at appropriate times
  • Assumes ownership of individual projects and assignments
  • Establishes and maintains communication with Sale Engineers, Engineering, Technicians, other Hyphn Project Managers, subcontractors, and clients pertaining to the project
  • Develops and communicates project updates weekly or as required to internal teams
  • Provides constant monitoring of labor, equipment and materials budgets
  • Assists Field Supervisors and Foremen to ensure schedules are met and communication to general contractors, external PMs, subcontractors, and/or clients is maintained regarding scheduling
  • Communicates scheduling details to technicians once the schedule is set
  • Develops and maintains installation schedules and project status through available software (TeamGantt, NetSuite)
  • Maintains the organization of the project folder within Sharepoint.
  • Provides regular updates to Project SuperSheets, TeamGantt and WPT Project Schedule
  • Provides punch-list of remaining tasks after substantial completion
  • Coordinates training & turnover of projects to the client, service, & sales engineering teams as necessary
  • Coordinates with accounting for all necessary information for invoicing. i.e. billing packages, OIP coupons, and other accounting information related to the project when applicable
  • Assumes responsibility for material and equipment returns, exchanges, and RMA processes with applicable vendors
  • Retrieves fiber and copper results from Linkware for distribution to applicable contacts
  • Develops overall project reporting for all active projects and shares project successes and failures with the leadership team on a regular basis
  • Handles construction permitting with specific county authorities when applicable on different projects
  • Handles Certificate of Insurance (COI) documents specific to the property management company of the building when applicable on different projects
  • Handles liability waivers and background checks for site specific projects when applicable on different projects
  • Provide submittal packages when requested
  • Provide Request for Information (RFI) documents when requested
  • Provide complete close out documentation upon substantial project completion. i.e. cover letter; as-built drawings; Rack and AV elevations; fiber and copper test results; warranty information, and manuals
  • Submit documentation and project information for OIP opportunities
Qualifications

Job Specifications/Qualifications:

  • Successful candidates will possess a minimum of 5-7 years of actual on the job experience working as a Project Manager or Program Manager for technology integration projects
  • Project Management and/or A/V, Security or Low Voltage certifications preferred - PMP, CTS, CTS-D, CTS-I, BICSI, etc.
  • Experience reading and translating plan, elevation, reflected ceiling, and other related construction drawing types
  • Time management and project management skills are crucial
  • Familiarity with audio/video systems
  • Knowledgeable of low voltage, security, and A/V electrical concepts and project dynamics
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Supervisory and people skills
  • High School degree or general education equivalent required.
  • Formal education in electronics or engineering, and people management is preferred. Experience in construction trade project management is required
  • Basic computer skills using Google G-Suite (i.e., Docs, Sheets, Gmail, Slides, etc.)
  • Knowledge of or experience with D-Tools System Integrator software is nice to have
  • Experience with commissioning A/V and security systems, finalizing Structured Cabling (LV) installations is nice to have
  • Experience managing teams and/or projects in the field at construction sites in

various phases

  • Experience project managing or installing audio-visual, teleconferencing,

corporate video, control systems, low voltage, voice/data cabling, structured

cabling, fiber optic, or related systems strongly preferred

  • Experience using hand tools of the A/V, low voltage, security and electronic related trades is nice to have
  • Must maintain a valid driver’s license with clean driving record
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, strong planning and organizational skills, exceptional customer service skills, ability to work well under pressure, problem solving skills, technical aptitude, computer skills, basic math skills, team player, professional appearance, committed and goal driven.
  • Must be able to maintain the following attributes while under pressure from deadlines: technical capability, professionalism, self-motivation, self-discipline, focus and attention to detail
  • Must be able to maintain a safety-minded approach to all activities
  • Ability to pass a drug screen, criminal background check and valid drivers 

license, clean driving record, insurance and vehicle to conduct business.

  • This role may require irregular hours during certain projects

 

Education:                            High school diploma minimum, Associate or Bachelor's Degree in

                                                Technology-related field preferred, experience in Project

Management required, technology integration preferred

Supervisory Role:             This role will be supervisory on a project basis, manage

the project team per project, coordinate schedules, and facilitates all project education to the field team so they can complete their tasks.

  • Physical Demands:            Must be able to climb ladders and scaffolding
  • Must be able to lift in excess of 50 pounds
  • Must be able to do moderate physical labor when necessary

Work Environment:             This position splits time between Hyphn’s Experience Center, and Operations Center
