Part-time contractor (hourly). Work is scoped by deliverable. Each deliverable must include an effort estimate (hours), prerequisites, milestones, and acceptance criteria before kickoff.
Role Summary
We’re looking for a hands-on Integration Engineer to design, build, and maintain integrations across the Zoho suite and third-party platforms. You will implement event-driven workflows, data syncs, and automations that connect Zoho CRM, Zoho Flow, Custom Functions (Deluge), Zoho Books, Zoho Campaigns, Zoho FSM, Zoho Analytics with external systems such as SalesCloser AI, iMonnit (sensor telemetry), QuickBooks, Smartleads, and integration frameworks like Zapier, Make (Integromat), n8n. The ideal contractor pairs strong technical execution with clear documentation and proactive communication.
Core Responsibilities
- Integration Design & Build:
- Implement workflows in Zoho Flow (triggers, webhooks, HTTP modules, variable mapping, JSONPath).
- Write Deluge Custom Functions (and use Connections) to call REST APIs, handle auth (Bearer/OAuth), pagination, retries, and idempotency.
- Quality, Monitoring, & Reliability:
- Add error handling, logging, and alerting (e.g., Zoho Cliq/Email notifications, dead-letter handling, retry policies, rate-limit backoff).
- Create test plans and run UAT for each deliverable; validate edge cases and data reconciliation.
- Documentation & Handover:
- Produce solution designs, data maps, field dictionaries, sequence diagrams, runbooks, and SOPs for operations.
- Maintain versioned artifacts and change logs.
- Stakeholder collaboration:
- For each deliverable: clarify scope, dependencies, and risks; propose a work plan with hour estimate; provide status updates; request approvals before deploy to production.
Requirements
Required Skills & Experience
- 3+ years building integrations in the Zoho ecosystem.
- Strong with Zoho Flow, Deluge Custom Functions, Zoho Connections, Zoho CRM automation, and Zoho Analytics datasets.
- Comfortable with external iPaaS tools: Zapier, Make, n8n (webhooks, HTTP modules, routers, schedulers).
- REST API expertise: JSON, query params, headers, auth (Bearer/OAuth2), pagination, filtering, rate limits, webhooks, idempotency.
- Practical knowledge of data modeling and mapping across CRM/Books/Campaigns/FSM; resolving duplicates and key strategy (e.g., Zoho Record ID, Phone, Email).
- Observability & reliability: structured logs, correlation IDs, alerting, retries, backoff, and failure playbooks.
- Security & compliance: secret management, least-privilege access, token rotation, PII handling, environment separation (Sandbox vs. Production).
- Excellent written documentation (clear, reproducible steps, diagrams) and stakeholder communication.
