About Recast

Recast helps sophisticated brands that spend millions of dollars a month on paid media understand how that media is actually performing so they can make better decisions. We work with Fortune 50 companies that buy Super Bowl ads, fast-moving D2C companies, and everything in between.

We’re known as a best-in-class marketing mix modeling (MMM) platform — but we’re not just another MMM vendor. The truth is that no tool can capture “the true ROI of YouTube,” and any vendor claiming otherwise is selling snake oil. We are up front with our customers that we don’t sell oracles or promise output “truth.”

What we sell instead is the best engine in the category for producing defensible estimates from your data and your expert business knowledge — plus the platform and technical advisory relationship that turn those estimates into thoughtful plans, forecasts, and decisions that can stand up to vigorous scrutiny.

About the Role

We’re looking for an extremely entrepreneurial Account Executive to manage the warm inbound leads we’re generating and strategically support our clients after they become Recast customers.

This ain’t your typical SaaS sales gig. We don’t believe anyone likes being sold anything these days — let alone their 15th software subscription — so we’re really looking for natural consultants and educators. We get excited seeing applicants who have technical degrees and zero formal selling experience. If you get a kick out of problem-solving, want to deeply understand the technical ins-and-outs of what makes Recast special, and love the rush that comes with winning in a high-integrity, no-BS way — our prospects will want to buy from you.

How This Role Works
  • You will be busy. We believe a small number of top-5% reps working at full tilt is better for Recast and our customers than a giant team of middle-of-the-pack types.
  • You will be rewarded. Keeping the sales team small means more work — and a greater ability to keep your foot on the gas and over-perform.
  • You will be accountable. The buck stops with you. There’s almost nothing you wouldn’t do for one of your customers, and you take the promises you make seriously and personally.
  • You will do the right thing. When your incentives diverge from what’s good for Recast, making the right call is easy and automatic for you. Recommending that a prospect shouldn’t buy Recast comes just as easily as pitching.
What You'll Do
  • Own the full sales cycle. Work prospects from qualification and research, through deep-dive demos, to contract signature.
  • Set customers up to win. Collaborate with our customer success and data science teams so new customers are smoothly onboarded and set up for long-term success.
  • Collaborate with other teams. You’ll work closely with Marketing, Marketing Data Science, Product, Customer Success, and Project Management to help them do their jobs better based on what you’re hearing from prospects.
You Might Be a Great Fit If…
  • You have startup experience. The pace, the rate of change, adjusting on the fly, and “if it’s broke just fix it” all come naturally to you because you’ve done them all before.
  • You’ve lived the buyer’s problem. You’ve worked in a marketing or data science role where you could have been a buyer or user of Recast — maybe as a marketing director or on a marketing analytics team — so you deeply understand the problems marketers face.
  • You thrive in ambiguity. You have experience in difficult startup environments (e.g. selling a product at a startup before it had PMF) and an incredible capacity for navigating complex situations.
  • You’re a consultant at heart. You have experience selling to marketing leaders and CMOs in the measurement space, and you consider yourself more of a consultant than a salesperson.
  • You want to build. You’re excited to work hand-in-hand with our GTM team — including our co-CEO — to build a high-functioning sales org.
  • You communicate with ease. You’re skilled in both written and verbal communication, with the ability to influence and negotiate naturally.
What Gets You Fired Up
  • Continuously improving. You’re excited about learning new things, sharpening new skills, and always building better systems.
  • Making other teams successful. You’ll see and hear things every day that can help our marketing, customer success, data science, and product teams — and you’re thrilled to translate those learnings into ideas that help the whole business run smoother.
  • Learning how businesses work. You get a kick out of putting yourself in the customer’s shoes and thinking from first principles about their problems, then fitting our solutions into the broader picture.
  • Working hard. You love working in a fast-paced environment on things that have never been tried before.
Company Benefits
  • Full remote. Work wherever you want.
  • Unmetered PTO. Rest when you need it (minimum 2 weeks mandatory PTO!)
  • We are (actually) profitable. We fund our operations with the money our customers give us.
  • Health benefits and 401(k) matching.
How to Apply

We encourage you to apply even if you don’t meet every single qualification listed above. If you’re excited about doing high-integrity, consultative selling for a product you can stand behind, we’d love to hear from you.

While Recast is officially based in the US, we're a fully remote team (one founder lives in Brooklyn, the other in Mexico City and team members in 6+ countries around the world). We can't sponsor visas at this time, however we are happy to have you join remotely from wherever you are.

We run identity verification and background screening to confirm that the candidate behind the screen is authentic. If offered the position, only verified candidates move forward in our hiring process.

What you need to know about the San Francisco Tech Scene

San Francisco and the surrounding Bay Area attracts more startup funding than any other region in the world. Home to Stanford University and UC Berkeley, leading VC firms and several of the world’s most valuable companies, the Bay Area is the place to go for anyone looking to make it big in the tech industry. That said, San Francisco has a lot to offer beyond technology thanks to a thriving art and music scene, excellent food and a short drive to several of the country’s most beautiful recreational areas.

Key Facts About San Francisco Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 365,500; 13.9% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Google, Apple, Salesforce, Meta
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, cloud computing, fintech, consumer technology, software
  • Funding Landscape: $50.5 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Sequoia Capital, Andreessen Horowitz, Bessemer Venture Partners, Greylock Partners, Khosla Ventures, Kleiner Perkins
  • Research Centers and Universities: Stanford University; University of California, Berkeley; University of San Francisco; Santa Clara University; Ames Research Center; Center for AI Safety; California Institute for Regenerative Medicine
