Responsibilities:
- Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers through proactive, consistent communication to ensure both day-to-day and strategic needs are met.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned business units and trade lanes, delivering exceptional customer service and account management.
- Plan, manage, and coordinate logistics operations for existing customers, ensuring on-time and cost-effective delivery of goods.
- Schedule and confirm appointments with vendors and suppliers, maintaining seamless coordination across the supply chain.
- Accurately maintain and update customer and operational data within company systems to ensure reliability and transparency.
- Drive customer retention and engagement within assigned accounts by anticipating needs, resolving issues, and identifying growth opportunities.
- Identify, develop, and manage new business relationships in target markets to expand the company’s customer base.
- Collaborate with internal teams to negotiate rates, identify carriers, and procure specialized equipment that meet customer requirements.
- Coordinate and support prospect, sales, and customer meetings in partnership with the VP of Sales/Client Relations
- Participate in rate matrix reviews to maintain profitability, competitiveness, and compliance with market trends.
Requirements
- Proven track record with a strong focus on account management, setting appointments, customer service, presenting and meeting with customers, pricing, proposals through to 'closing the deal'.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish is an asset
- 3-5 years of customer service and account management experience in transportation and logistics field is preferred.
- College or university degree in Marketing or Business-related field is required.
- Strong knowledge and understanding of the sales planning process.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills & strong interpersonal and customer relation skills.
- Strong negotiation skills with proven closing ability.
- Ability to function independently with little or no supervision as well as function in a team environment.
