Position Overview

The Account Technical Lead (ATL), Regional Accounts is the primary technical authority across regional accounts, flexing between Autodesk-led and partner-led engagements. They independently conduct advanced discovery, architect hybrid technical solutions, and maintain the Customer Technical Vision where appropriate. They ensure customers receive consistent, high-quality technical engagement regardless of delivery partner.

Responsibilities

  • Technical Discovery: Lead direct discovery for complex opportunities. Review and validate partner-led discovery to ensure technical accuracy.

  • Solution Architect: Design hybrid architectural solutions incorporating partner services, Autodesk workflows, and regional capability considerations. Provide guidance to partners on solution alignment and required Autodesk methodologies.

  • Building Trust & Technical Relationships: Develop strong, ongoing relationships with key customers and partner technical stakeholders.

  • Customer Technical Vision (CTV): Create and maintain regional-level technical roadmaps, documenting customer goals and required partner engagement.

  • Revenue Growth: Drive both Autodesk-led and partner-led expansion motions, ensuring mutual value.

  • Technical Issue Resolution: Lead resolution of customer issues across direct-delivered and partner-delivered workstreams.

  • Sales Collaboration: Collaborate with AEs and Partner Managers to define long-term strategy and technical milestones.

  • Technical Orchestration: Lead joint Autodesk and partner technical orchestration for demos, benchmarks, and workshops.

  • Interpret Results: Provide synthesized results to stakeholders highlighting implications for both direct-led and partner-led follow-up actions.

Skills & Competencies

  • Industry Expertise / Business Acumen: Make informed recommendations balancing customer needs, Autodesk capability, and partner strengths.

  • Technical Proficiency: Apply Autodesk workflows to regional use cases and guide partners on proper implementation.

  • Thought Leadership: Present at customer and partner events, influencing regional technical strategy.

  • Storytelling & Persuasion: Deliver compelling narratives tailored for customer and partner audiences.

  • Partner Ecosystem Fluency: Recommend when, how, and which partner should engage based on account dynamics.

Account Team Unit (ATU) Collaboration

  • Technical Orchestration: Lead the orchestration of technical specialists with deep technical and domain expertise to deliver product demos, benchmarks, product performance evaluations, and ROI modeling.

  • Collaborate with Customer Success: Take a proactive role in collaborating with the Customer Success team to scope pre-sales technical solutions plans in enterprise accounts, contributing as needed.

  • Lead Resolution of Customer Technical Issues: Take charge of resolving customer technical issues if escalated by Customer Success, providing expert guidance and support.

  • Partner with Customer Success: Actively partner with the Customer Success team on the development of customer success plans in assigned accounts.

  • Interpret Results: Provide detailed interpretations of results from demos, benchmarks, evaluations, etc., to the Account Executives and the extended sales team to inform and influence the unique business value delivered to the customer.

  • Sales Collaboration: Guide AEs, Customer Success, Partner Managers, and partners in shared execution models.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Preferred bachelor’s or master’s in architecture, engineering, or construction or equivalent experience.

  • 7+ years’ industry experience

  • Solid understanding of the AEC industry

  • Technical knowledge using Autodesk software / solutions

  • English language required

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to manage influence through persuasion, negotiation, and consensus building.

  • Strong teamwork / relationship management skills

  • Works independently and manages time effectively to balance multiple priorities.

  • Ability to travel up to 50-70%

  • Ability to attend Autodesk-sponsored events such as sales kickoffs, training, or Autodesk University.

Salary transparency

Salary is one part of Autodesk’s competitive compensation package. For U.S.-based sales roles, we expect a starting On-Target Earnings (OTE) between $126,200 and $226,160. OTE is comprised of base salary plus commission target for sales roles. Offers are based on the candidate’s experience and geographic location and may exceed this range. In addition to base salaries, our compensation package may include annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
