About the role
We’re looking for an accountant to join our small, hands-on team at SeqMatic. This is an onsite individual contributor role with significant ownership and direct exposure to the business.
Customer billing will be the largest part of the role. You’ll own our billing process from orders received through invoicing and payment, working closely with customers and our Sales and Operations teams to make sure completed work is accurately tracked, billed, and resolved. You’ll also have meaningful responsibility across month-end close, balance sheet reconciliations, financial reporting, accounts payable, and our corporate card program.
SeqMatic is a small company, and we see that as an advantage. There aren't layers of corporate bureaucracy or unnecessary process here. You'll work directly with the Controller and other decision-makers, have visibility into how the business operates, and have the ability to identify a problem and actually fix it. We're looking for someone who enjoys that kind of environment: someone willing to roll up their sleeves, take ownership, ask questions, and make things better.
We're also building for the future. Many of our accounting processes are evolving as the company grows, so you'll help develop policies, controls, and workflows rather than simply inherit them. We're particularly interested in someone who looks at a repetitive manual process and thinks, “There has to be a better way to do this." You'll be encouraged to explore automation, systems improvements, and AI tools that make our accounting function faster, more accurate, and more scalable.
This is a great opportunity for an accountant with a strong accounting foundation who wants more ownership, more exposure to the business, and more ability to influence how things are done than they might find in a traditional corporate accounting position.
