How You’ll Make an Impact
Common Interest Management Services is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Accounting Director to help manage key areas of the accounting department in a full-time, exempt position. This role is ideal for a talented accounting professional who is eager to take ownership, strengthen departmental processes, and contribute to the continued success and growth of the accounting team.
The Accounting Director will oversee and support multiple accounting functions, working closely with team members to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and strong internal controls. We are looking for a true “go-getter” — someone who is motivated, talented, a quick learner, and capable of managing priorities in a fast-paced environment while maintaining a high level of accuracy and professionalism. This is a hybrid position (3 days in office, 2 days remote) based in San Ramon, CA. The Salary range is $90,000-$100,00 a year; direct experience is strongly preferred.
Primary Responsibilities
Accounting Department Leadership and Process Management
- Manage and support key accounting department functions to ensure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and on schedule.
- Supervise, mentor, and support accounting team members, helping to clarify priorities, resolve questions, and promote accountability.
- Review departmental workflows and identify opportunities to improve processes, increase efficiency, and reduce errors.
- Help establish, document, and maintain accounting procedures, internal controls, and best practices.
- Monitor team workload, deadlines, and deliverables to ensure department goals and service expectations are met.
- Collaborate with accounting leadership and cross-functional teams to resolve operational issues and improve communication.
- Analyze accounting processes and reports to identify trends, exceptions, risks, or areas needing follow-up.
- Assist with training, onboarding, and development of accounting staff to strengthen team knowledge and consistency.
- Lead special projects and process improvement initiatives that support the growth and effectiveness of the accounting department.
What You Bring
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- Prior supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Self-starter with a strong desire to learn and grow professionally.
