As an AI Analyst, you'll research the AI landscape and create impactful content for CIOs, synthesizing complex information into persuasive narratives to help drive executive decisions.

We are an applied AI lab building end-to-end software agents.

We're the makers of Devin, the first AI software engineer, and Windsurf, the AI-native IDE. Together, they represent our vision for collaborative AI teammates that enable engineers to focus on more interesting problems and empower teams to strive for more ambitious goals.

Our team is small and talent-dense. Among our founding team, we have world-class competitive programmers, former founders, and leaders from companies at the cutting edge of AI including Scale AI, Palantir, Cursor, Waymo, Tesla, Lunchclub, Modal, Google DeepMind, and Nuro.

Building Devin is just the first step—our hardest challenges still lie ahead. If you’re excited to solve some of the world’s biggest problems and build AI that can reason on real-world tasks, apply to join us.

About The Role

You’ll lead our AI analysis work for global CIOs. Your job is to research the AI landscape — models, products, economic and geopolitical trends — and turn that into crisp, evidence-backed content that helps business leaders understand what's changing and what to do about it. You'll be the person behind the arguments our execs deliver at C-level gatherings and meetings.

You should have exceptional analytical ability and be a strong writer. You will synthesize technical, business, and political complexity into narratives that convince execs to act. You might be the type of person who would have joined an equity research firm in the 80s — but you live in the 2020s and you're obsessed with AI instead.

What you will do:
  • Research and monitor the AI landscape — model capabilities, competitor products, economic and geopolitical shifts — and distill it into intelligence our teams can act on.

  • Build frameworks that help CIOs understand AI software engineering capabilities, how Cognition is differentiated from competitors, and the ROI of adopting Devin.

  • Write keynotes, talk tracks, whitepapers, and briefings for leadership, and prep executives for high-stakes engagements and customer conversations.

  • Partner with customer-facing and forward-deployed engineering teams to source real examples and on-the-ground intelligence that sharpens your analysis.

  • Develop thought leadership on how large enterprises should transform their organizations as they deploy AI agents at scale.

About you:
  • You have 4+ years of work experience in an analytical role such as equity research, strategy consulting, banking, growth equity investing, or tech policy.

  • You've written analysis that directly influenced an executive decision or a deal worth seven figures or more.

  • You follow AI developments compulsively and have built products in the tools yourself.

  • You've shipped polished, high-stakes work under time pressure and want to work hard.

  • You’re excellent at synthesizing a range of quantitative and qualitative data into business insights.

  • You are a strong, persuasive writer.
