Role Overview
Lumentum is seeking an AI Product Management & Operations leader to help drive our enterprise AI transformation. This role will coordinate across business stakeholders, product owners, data and engineering teams, and external partners to ensure AI initiatives are prioritized well, executed effectively, and delivered on schedule. The ideal candidate is highly organized, cross-functional, business-oriented, and comfortable operating at the intersection of strategy, execution, and stakeholder communication.

Role Summary
The AI Product Management & Operations leader will manage the intake, prioritization, tracking, and operational governance of AI use cases across the organization. This person will help translate business demand into a clear portfolio roadmap, coordinate execution with internal delivery teams, monitor timelines and risks, and communicate progress, value, and outcomes to leadership and stakeholders. This is a business and operational leadership role focused on alignment, delivery, and measurable impact.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the portfolio of AI products and initiatives across functions, including intake, assessment, prioritization, sequencing, and status tracking.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to identify high-value AI use cases and clarify goals, expected outcomes, dependencies, and success metrics.
  • Coordinate closely with internal engineering, data, analytics, product, and operational teams to move initiatives from concept to delivery.
  • Establish and run operating cadences for AI portfolio reviews, delivery check-ins, risk escalation, and executive reporting.
  • Track milestones, schedules, resource dependencies, and delivery risks across multiple AI programs and workstreams.
  • Ensure stakeholders are informed on progress, blockers, business value, adoption readiness, and realized impact.
  • Support development of portfolio governance processes, intake frameworks, prioritization criteria, and decision-making mechanisms.
  • Help define and monitor KPIs related to AI delivery, business adoption, value realization, and portfolio health.
  • Coordinate with external vendors, implementation partners, and other third parties as needed.
  • Drive follow-through across teams to ensure commitments are met and AI initiatives stay on time and aligned to business priorities.
  • Support change management and operational readiness activities to improve adoption of AI solutions across the enterprise.
  • Help build AI literacy across the organization through presentations, workshops, and enablement materials.
  • Stay current with leading AI tools, platforms, and workflows, and actively evaluate their relevance to Lumentum.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred in a relevant field such as engineering, computer science, business, operations, or related discipline.
  • 15+ years of experience in transformation, strategy, program management, digital innovation, or AI-adjacent leadership roles.
  • Demonstrated success leading cross-functional initiatives in a global, matrixed organization.
  • Strong understanding of AI, including generative AI, enterprise AI, automation, data-driven workflows, and related technologies.
  • Experience working in manufacturing, industrial, engineering, or similarly complex operational environments is strongly preferred.
  • Strong executive communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Comfort with AI tools and the ability to evaluate and prototype ideas

Pay Range:

P95-USA-1 :$193,050.00 - $275,800.00
