AI Solutions Developer – Insurance Operations & Systems Integration

Los Angeles | Onsite

Pay Range: $100,000- $150,000 Per Year. The exact starting compensation to be offered will be determined at the time of selecting an applicant for hire and will be dependent on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to geographic location, skill set, experience, education, credentials, and licensure when applicable.

Knight Insurance is seeking a highly motivated and innovative AI Solutions Developer to rapidly design, build, test, and deploy AI-driven business solutions that improve operational efficiency, reporting, underwriting workflows, and system integrations across the organization.

This role is ideal for a developer who combines strong technical skills with operational understanding of insurance systems and processes. The candidate must be able to quickly create internal tools, dashboards, reporting solutions, web applications, workflow automations, and API integrations using modern AI-assisted development platforms and technologies.

The developer will work closely with internal departments, external IT vendors, software providers, and operational teams to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.

What You'll Do as an AI Solutions Developer:

AI-Driven Application Development

  • Use AI development tools and frameworks to rapidly build:
    • Internal web applications
    • Dashboards and reporting tools
    • Workflow automation systems
    • Operational utilities and portals
    • Ad hoc business solutions
  • Quickly prototype and deploy proof-of-concept applications for operational needs.
  • Utilize AI coding assistants and low-code/no-code platforms to accelerate development timelines.
  • Develop lightweight web interfaces for internal and external users.

Systems Integration & API Connectivity

  • Connect internal insurance systems, databases, and third-party platforms through APIs and middleware.
  • Work with external IT companies and software vendors to:
    • Share technical requirements
    • Validate integrations
    • Ensure proper data flow between systems
  • Build and maintain integrations for:
    • Rating systems
    • Billing platforms
    • Claims systems
    • CRM and reporting tools
    • Data warehouses and analytics systems
  • Ensure accurate and secure data accessibility across departments.

Insurance Operations & System Validation

  • Review insurance manuals, underwriting guidelines, and rating algorithms to understand business logic and workflow requirements.
  • Validate that systems function properly across:
    • Underwriting
    • Rating
    • Billing
    • Claims
    • Reporting
    • Security and permissions
  • Perform testing and quality assurance on software developed internally or by third-party vendors prior to production release.
  • Ensure systems align with operational and compliance requirements.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with:
    • Operations teams
    • Underwriting departments
    • Claims teams
    • Finance and accounting
    • Executive leadership
    • External technology partners
  • Translate operational needs into technical specifications and scalable solutions.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

Qualifications

What do we look for in our AI Solutions Developer?

  • Experience with AI-assisted software development tools.
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Web application development
    • API integrations
    • SQL and database connectivity

  • Experience with modern programming languages/frameworks such as:

Insurance Industry Knowledge

  • Understanding of insurance operational workflows preferred.

  • Experience working with insurance systems is strongly preferred.
