Who We Are

Cognition is an applied AI lab building end-to-end software agents. We are behind Devin, the first AI software engineer. Our vision is AI that works alongside engineers as a genuine teammate, not just a tool.

We are a talent-dense team of competitive programmers, former founders, and researchers from Scale AI, Palantir, Cursor, Google DeepMind, and others. Our hardest challenges still lie ahead. If you're excited to work with the world's largest companies to build the future of software engineering, apply to join.

Role Mission

Our customers are primarily the largest enterprise companies in the world. Before they buy, they will consult with market research vendors like Gartner, IDC, and Forrester to learn about Devin. You'll own how Cognition shows up in analyst research: what analysts hear from us, how well they understand Devin, and what they ultimately write and say to buyers.

You will build Cognition's analyst relations program from the ground up: owning our submissions, shaping the strategic company narrative, lining up stakeholders, and making sure the analysts understand Devin.

What You'll Own

Analyst Program & Briefing Cadence

  • Own the relationships with Gartner, Forrester, IDC, and the boutique firms that matter for AI coding agents and software engineering.

  • Build the annual calendar of briefings, inquiries, and prep the team to make the most of each one and communicate a strategic narrative.

Evaluations & Reports

  • Run end-to-end submissions for major evaluations: the strategy/story, questionnaire, demo, and follow-ups. Coordinate across product, engineering, and marketing.

  • Own the customer reference pipeline for evaluations. Recruit, prep, and systematize reference customers.

Analyst Insight to the Business

  • Make sure we are making the most of subscriptions to bring what analysts are saying back into the company

  • Get analyst validation into the hands of Sales and Marketing

Requirements
  • Long-term interest in analyst relations. You want to see through building up the Analyst Relations program at Cognition. You've owned a Magic Quadrant submission, including the RFI, briefing, reference program, end-to-end.

  • Ability to draft RFIs. You can strategize what the story of the RFI should be. You’re able to draft answers based on internal docs for a technical product.

  • Experience in product marketing, or comms, or GTM of technical products. You can explain Devin deeply, and communicate between engineering and sales precisely.

  • Executive presence and prep. You can prep internal stakeholders for briefings, in their entirety, assuming these stakeholders have very little time to prep, and can give them direct feedback.

  • Project management. You keep the trains running without any direction/chasing.

  • Communication. Succinct, prioritized, audience-considered, spoken and written.

You might excel if...
  • Extremely proactive. You've stood up a function at a fast-growing company. You can manage yourself and others to outcomes.

  • Technical understanding. You have an interest in, and understanding of engineering products.

What We Value
  • Customer empathy - you have deep empathy for our customers and what resonates with them

  • Ownership mindset - you take responsibility for results

  • Bias toward execution - you move quickly from problem to solution
