The Application Engineer provides technical support for Advantest 93000 systems, develops applications, engages with customers, and optimizes test methodologies.

Job Description:
As an Application Engineer, you will be working with a dynamic team to provide technical support for the Advantest 93000 Semiconductor Test Systems and Developing Applications for our customers and partners.
Responsibilities include:
- Work closely with Engineers, Senior Management and Sales to develop sales and support strategies
- Focus during varies of the sales process range from: including requirements analysis, feature demonstrations, benchmarks, competitive positioning, and implementation and execution.
- Integrates Advantest products and services (at the system/solutions level) into customer’s environment.
- Perform analysis of complex IC manufacturer customer requirements providing expertise on topics such as: Performance, Design, Utilization, Optimization, test program development/conversions and Implementation Strategies.
- Design and Develop Streaming Scan Network (SSN) TestMethods for both On-Chip and On-Tester Compares
- Accountable for the design, scoping, and technical validity of the solution to achieve the customer's business objectives.
- Generate project plans for complex projects and track project completion for the technologies range from digital and high-speed SoC technologies.
- Create and deliver customer training classes and consultation materials.
- Communicate with customers relative to the completeness, repeatability, and accuracy of test programs. Review apparent issues and propose solutions as needed;
- Design Evaluation boards, Engineering and Production Load board for test and work with PCB designer to ensure all the best practices has been fulfilled
- Define, develop, debug, and implement all major elements of electrical test programs for specific device types utilizing high-speed ATE and compliant test methodologies;
- Conduct experimental investigations as to test methodologies, test fixture design and development, product yield improvement, process quality controls, etc. Analyze experiment results and initiate / implement solutions;
- Provide technical analysis of related product issue and participate in the resolution of any issues found;
- Optimize test coverage, throughput, and test cost for high-volume production.
- Support production test transfers to offshore manufacturing sites and test subcontractors.
- Ensure test documentation, including program version control, procedures, and reports, is maintained.
Requirements:
- Any BS Degree or equivalent from fully accredited college or university or M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering with Automated Test Equipment (ATE) knowledge is strongly desired.
- Minimum 3-10 years of experience in an electrical/wireless testing of SoC Integrated Circuits in a Test Engineering role.
- Strong Technical Knowledge in both the SmarTest-7 and SmarTest-8 TestMethod Developments
- Understanding of Integrated Device Parameters, Test Philosophy, High Speed Digital fundamentals, PA fundamentals, industry standard test methods, test equipment operation, capabilities, limitations, trouble-shooting, and automation is critical for success
- In-depth knowledge and understanding of methodology for digital and analog CMOS SoC integrated devices. Strong test programming and debug experience in Advantest 93000 tester is must
- Skill in ATE architecture and Test Hardware Design and Debugging, Schematic Capture and PCB layout are must.
- Knowledge of proper and effective use of lab test equipment. (i.e., oscilloscope, logic analyzer, and signal generators, etc.).
- Qualified in Data Analysis in support of Characterization Reports and Yield Reporting tools such as Excel, VBA, or Analyzing Data Logs is a plus
- Familiar to Analyze the STDF datalog file and able to write parser to read all records is plus.
- Knowledge in thermal management technologies and methodologies is plus.
- Prior experience in coordinating complex projects concurrently in a fast-paced environment
- Competency in Computer programming languages such as C, C++, Java, and scripting languages (PERL, Python and Shell) in Linux OS.
- Strong attention to details, verbal communication and written skill sets, and ability to work with a highly diverse team-structured environment with positive attitude is mandatory
- Ability to work in a fast paced, project oriented, team environment and escalate any critical issues to the senior management.
- Travel is required and able to travel domestically and internationally to support our customers with very short notice.
Additional Skills Preferred (but not required):
- Knowledge in Advantest competitor Tester platforms
- Prior experiences and/or able to write and present technical papers
- Experience in coaching team members and Advantest customers
- Experience with SSN, PCIe.
- Understanding of DFT (Design for Test), BIST, and scan-chain techniques.
