Lead a customer-facing application and systems engineering team for Advantest V93000 test solutions. Drive test strategy from requirements through wafer sort, final test, and HVM ramp; manage program development, debug, characterization, optimization, yield and cost improvements, escalations, and customer success. Promote automation and AI-enabled workflows.
Job Summary & Responsibilities
We are seeking an Application Engineering Manager to lead a customer-facing systems and application engineering team supporting high-performance compute (HPC), AI, hyperscaler, and advanced digital semiconductor test applications on the Advantest V93000 platform. This role supports customers from technical engagement and test strategy through wafer sort, final test, and high-volume manufacturing ramp. The ideal candidate brings strong ATE expertise, leadership experience, and the ability to drive customer success for complex SoC, AI accelerator, CPU/GPU, networking, and data-center devices.
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and develop a team of application and systems engineers supporting V93000 test solutions for HPC, AI, hyperscaler, and advanced digital customers.
- Drive customer engagements from requirements definition, benchmarks, and bring-up through production release, wafer sort, final test, and HVM ramp.
- Guide test strategy, program development, debug, characterization, validation, correlation, and optimization using V93000 and SmarTest workflows.
- Partner with customers and internal teams to improve time-to-volume, production quality, yield, test time, and cost of test.
- Support advanced test needs including multisite test, high-speed digital interfaces, scan/DFT, memory interfaces, power, thermal, and production hardware readiness.
- Lead technical escalations, root-cause analysis, and cross-functional resolution of production ramp or customer support issues.
- Promote automation, AI-enabled engineering workflows, data-driven debug, and knowledge capture to improve engineering productivity and customer outcomes.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field.
- 10+ years of experience in semiconductor test, ATE applications, product engineering, test development, or systems engineering.
- 3+ years of leadership, people management, or technical team leadership experience.
- Experience with ATE platforms, preferably Advantest V93000 and SmarTest; comparable ATE experience may be considered.
- Experience supporting advanced digital, SoC, AI accelerator, CPU/GPU, networking, or data-center semiconductor devices.
- Experience with wafer sort, final test, high-volume manufacturing ramp, yield improvement, test time reduction, and production issue resolution.
- Strong customer-facing communication, escalation management, project execution, and cross-functional leadership skills.
Additional Skills Preferred (but not required):
- Hands-on experience with V93000 EXA Scale, SmarTest 8, multisite optimization, pattern conversion, or production test deployment.
- Experience supporting hyperscaler, fabless, IDM, foundry, or OSAT customers.
- Familiarity with AI/ML-assisted engineering workflows, automation, scripting, data analytics, Java, Python, C/C++, or test data analysis tools.
