The role

Raydar is recruiting for this role on behalf of our client. Design, build and train AI-driven systems that work with complex technical data, owning core services end-to-end as one of the first engineering hires. Collaborate with customers and fellow engineers to ship dependable features into production, prototyping quickly and iterating often.

What you'll do

- Design and implement core workflows and supporting infrastructure for AI agents, including context handling and indexing approaches.

- Build agents and machine learning models that interpret, reason over and modify complex technical data.

- Integrate these systems with enterprise-grade tools and platforms.

- Partner with customers and engineers to deliver reliable, intuitive AI-powered features in production.

- Prototype quickly, test ideas with real users and release frequently.

- Help shape engineering culture, architecture decisions and product direction.


Requirements

What we're looking for

- A university degree in a computing or machine learning field, or comparable hands-on experience.

- Roughly 2 to 6 years of relevant experience, with openness to exceptional new graduates.

- Strong Python skills and experience with common machine learning libraries.

- A record of building production machine learning or AI systems.

- Solid understanding of large language model design and current agent research.

- Practical experience with search and information retrieval.

- Ability to move quickly from idea to production with real care for the customer experience.

- Curious, entrepreneurial mindset and a genuine interest in technology.

- Ability to work on-site in the Bay Area, with relocation welcome; remote will be considered for outstanding candidates.

Bonus points

- Prior time spent on applied ML, backend or AI infrastructure work.

- Experience applying machine learning to geometric data.

- Track record of high-impact work or published research at leading AI teams.

- Base salary: USD 180,000 to 250,000 per year
