What You’ll Do

Under the direct supervision of the Clubhouse Director, the Assistant Clubhouse Director (ACD) serves as second-in-command at the Willie Mays Clubhouse, providing daily leadership, operational oversight, and sound decision-making. Working alongside the Clubhouse Director and VP of Club Services, the ACD manages direct reports, programs, facility operations, safety protocols, and volunteer engagements to ensure high-functioning Clubhouse operations.

  • Lead & Manage Direct Reports — Recruit, hire, train, and evaluate 3–5 direct reports, supporting team meeting agendas, schedules, and daily program execution.
  • Oversee Programs & Scheduling — Develop daily schedules aligned with strategic goals, evaluate program effectiveness, manage sign-in tracking, and recommend program enhancements or changes.
  • Maintain Facilities & Risk Management — Conduct daily facility walk-throughs, manage maintenance assessments using system reporting, and enforce closing, vehicle, and safety ratio protocols.
  • Support Budgeting & Administration — Co-develop and manage annual Clubhouse budgets with the Director and support implementation of facility use agreements and space-sharing MOUs.
  • Ensure Lobby & Site Safety — Maintain a productive lobby environment and monitor outside areas during peak arrival and pick-up times to build positive relations with families and neighbors.
  • Manage Volunteer Programs — Oversee site volunteer engagement in collaboration with Clubhouse staff and BGCSF’s Volunteer Manager.
  • Build Key Stakeholder Relationships — Maintain strong working relationships with staff, senior leadership, parents, youth, and community partners.
What You BringRequired
  • 5+ years of leadership experience at a large youth-serving non-profit, with proven success in staff management, operations, and community relations
  • Thorough understanding of youth development non-profits, including risk management best practices and asset management
  • Strong organizational, planning, problem-solving, delegation, and decision-making skills
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university
  • Leadership experience within an inner-city Boys & Girls Club or similar urban community organization
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs.
  • Must be able to stand for at least 2 hours consecutively.
  • Must be able to sit at a computer workstation for long periods of time.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $77,000–$78,000 annual. Final compensation is determined based on a range of factors, including skill set, experience, training, certifications, and organizational needs. Candidates may be hired at the entry, mid, or senior level of the range, depending on qualifications and position requirements.

Pre-Employment Requirements

As part of the hiring process, BGCSF requires candidates to complete LiveScan fingerprinting, a background check, and a tuberculosis (TB) evaluation or test.
