About the Opportunity

JOB SUMMARY

Husky Card Services oversees all functions related to the Husky Card @ Northeastern University's Oakland Campus. The Assistant Director of Husky Card Services is responsible for managing all aspects of the Husky Card system. This includes system administration, coordinating with various departments, and managing databases that interact with the system. Key duties include:

  • Ensuring system integrity through report reconciliation and analysis.

  • Supporting web-based transactions involving the Husky Card.

  • Training other departments to access and use reporting tools.

  • Overseeing devices connected to the database both on and off campus.

  • Expanding the use of the Husky Card across different services.

This position is critical to ensuring that the systems that provide students with access to services like meals, housing, computer labs, fitness centers, and the library are accurately aligned with their status. The Assistant Director will also work closely with Residential Security and Technical Support Operations, overseeing the hiring, training, and mentoring of student workers.

The standard work schedule is Monday through Friday, 9 AM to 5 PM PST, with flexibility as advised by the Senior Director of Husky Card Services. Occasional weekend work and coverage on key university dates are also required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree preferred

  • A minimum of 1-3 years of experience is required

  • Understanding of databases

  • General accounting capabilities

  • Customer service focus

  • Demonstrating the ability to integrate their service delivery with the rest of the university by sharing their knowledge of the systems, their perceptions of the challenges and the opportunities for improvement

  • Manages change in a complex environment

  • Good at setting priorities among many competing tasks and projects

  • Strong communications guidelines and systems

  • Develops new ideas

  • Manages external and internal relationships

  • Strong marketing presence and identity

  • Addresses immediate needs of student while understanding the long term implications to services and programs given what issues are repeatedly presented; builds relationships with students

  • Manages expenses wisely; utilizes effective internal budget process to manage costs

  • Regularly sets long and short-term goals and develops action plans

  • Determines the processes necessary to get things done; organizes people and activities well; sees opportunities for synergy and integration; can simplify complex processes.

Expected Hiring Range:

$66,345.00 - $93,712.50

With the pay range(s) shown above, the starting salary will depend on several factors, which may include your education, experience, location, knowledge and expertise, and skills as well as a pay comparison to similarly-situated employees already in the role.
