About the role

We're looking for an Assistant General Counsel to join Atomic's legal team and serve as a key partner to the General Counsel. This role is about building depth and resilience in a legal department that today relies on a single senior attorney. You will have the opportunity to further develop as a well-rounded in-house lawyer with exposure to commercial transactions, regulatory matters, mergers and acquisitions, legal operations, cross-border transactions, disputes, privacy and corporate governance.

Atomic is a remote-first company; candidates based in the US are required, with New York metro or San Francisco Bay Area a plus.

  • Provide backup to the General Counsel across all legal functions, ensuring continuity and coverage

  • Track and document modifications to standard contract terms, ensuring visibility to affected teams across Atomic

  • Manage lower-complexity employment matters, coordinating with outside counsel when needed

  • Track and respond to litigation deadlines, discovery requests, and regulatory inquiries

  • Prepare legal analyses for the risk committee on matters requiring legal review

Legal Operations & Contract Database

  • Maintain, improve, and expand the vendor and contract management database (Ivo platform), including partner agreements, order forms, and compliance records

  • Develop automated reports on auto-renewal dates, termination windows, and other key contract metrics

  • Partner with Compliance to align vendor due diligence workflows with the contract database

  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase the efficiency of the legal function

Qualifications
  • J.D. from an accredited law school
