With a fast-paced, agile, entrepreneurial culture, we move quickly, adapt constantly, and thrive in dynamic environments. Through our Knotch platform, we meet our clients where they are and enable them to prove and improve their content. With our newest innovation, AgentC—a managed AI service for marketers—we're transforming how marketing teams plan, adapt, and execute across digital channels.

About the Role
We’re looking for an Associate Director of Content Strategy to join our consulting team - a group that blends creativity, data analysis, and strategic thinking to help brands realize the full impact of their content.

This is a unique role that sits at the intersection of strategy, creative excellence, and analytics. You’ll craft data-informed content strategies for enterprise clients, helping them align content initiatives with audience needs, brand priorities, and measurable business outcomes. You’ll be both a strategist, identifying the sweet spot between audience intent and brand purpose, and a analyst, utilizing data from Knotch and other sources to optimize strategies for ongoing performance.

Responsibilities

As the Associate Director, Content Strategy, you will partner with Knotch clients to ensure the strategic foundations are in place to drive measurable impact. You’ll work both independently and collaboratively to answer key strategic questions, including:

  • Measurement Framework: How do we align content against business outcomes?
  • Content Vision & Architecture: What’s the role of content, and how does it ladder up to brand strategy?
  • Content Strategy: How do we document and operationalize a content strategy that connects to the customer journey?
  • Enterprise Content Approach: What parts of content operations should be centralized, and what capabilities are needed?
  • Learning Agenda & Test Planning: What are the questions we need to answer to find content success? What should we test?
  • Content Planning: What content, topics, and formats should we prioritize next, and across which channels?
  • Advanced Analytics: How can we connect engagement metrics to business outcomes like revenue and profit?

How to be Successful

  • Have 7+ years of experience in a content-first or client service environment (agency or in-house).
  • Have developed content strategies across paid, owned, and earned channels that effectively meet audience needs at every stage of the journey.
  • Are a strong storyteller and communicator, capable of articulating strategy in a way that inspires and educates clients.
  • You're highly collaborative, working seamlessly with creative, data, and client teams.
  • Have a professional portfolio of work that showcases your ability to build and execute content strategies.
  • You're skilled in time management and can deliver multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Have an excellent sense of creative judgment, knowing what makes content not just effective, but truly engaging
  • We also appreciate (but don’t require)
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or a related field.
  • Experience with AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT) and SEO and analytics platforms such as Google Ads, Search Console, Analytics, Semrush, BuzzSumo, Screaming Frog, or similar.
  • Experience working within large enterprise environments or with Fortune 1000 brands.
