Job Description
 

As an Associate Director, Global Commercial Project Management at Gilead you will report to the Senior Director, Global Commercial Project Management and will serve as the project manager of early Commercialization and Commercialization Teams (eCTs / CTs). This role will lead strategic execution and support governance while coordinating cross-functional teams and initiatives to ensure successful delivery and operational execution of their teams’ priorities. This role will primarily support Gilead’s programs in Liver and Inflammation with the opportunity to support other therapeutic areas as needed.

The successful candidate will be dynamic, with excellent project management capabilities and a proven track record of leading global, cross functional commercialization teams and managing moderately complex projects with multiple workstreams. Additionally, the ideal candidate will be driven, proactive, have a strong attention to detail, and be able to effectively communicate with senior leaders across the organization in a dynamic, fast paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

• Delivers moderately complex project/initiative communications and ensures that all stakeholders are fully informed and knowledgeable of project activities and their status.
• Works in partnership with Commercialization Team Lead(s) and stakeholders to ensure timely, efficient and effective meetings and progress on activities between meetings.
• Provides leadership to the CT /eCT and functional area partners by anticipating and identifying issues which pose a challenge to achieving strategic goals; proposes and implements plans to resolve such issues and, when necessary, executes corrective actions.
• Supports teams’ annual strategic and tactical planning and launch readiness activities
• Develops and manages team infrastructure and integrated project information—including key timelines, dashboards, communications, meetings, minutes, action items, and function-specific deliverables—to align team goals and resources and ensure high-quality deliverables are completed on time.
• Identifies and manages critical path activities and resources.
• Organizes and/or leads preparation of high-quality documents and presentations for stakeholders, including for governance committees and senior leaders.
• Contribute to the development and implementation of continuous improvement / optimization initiatives across the GCPM department.
• Ensures project work complies with established practices, policies and processes and any regulatory or other requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor's Degree and Ten Years' Experience

OR

Masters' Degree and Eight Years' Experience

OR

PhD and Two Years’ Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

• BA/ BS with 10+ years’ relevant project management experience in the biopharma industry, or 8+ years’ relevant experience with MA/MS/MBA, or 2+ years’ relevant experience with PharmD/PhD.
• Proven effectiveness managing global, cross functional project teams in the biopharma industry, preferably with at least 4+ years' experience supporting/leading commercialization teams.
• Proven track record of successfully managing multiple project teams simultaneously.
• Experience that includes at least 5+ years leading cross-functional commercial project management activities within the biopharma industry; building, managing and articulating comprehensive, cross-functional plans.
• Self-starter, with a bias to action, who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative, innovative environment
• Strong communication skills across functions and leadership teams; comfort in business and technical discussions.
• Has significant industry knowledge, including knowledge of the drug development and commercial life cycle of marketed products.
• Has comprehensive knowledge of the full project management lifecycle, best practices, and tools, and demonstrates the ability to apply them from project start-up through close-out to improve team efficiency and effectiveness and achieve targeted project outcomes.
• Has advanced knowledge of the therapeutic area.
• Strong leadership presence and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to lead without authority and influence programs, projects and/or initiatives.
• Ability to create an inclusive environment and lead empowered teams who operate with high standards of alignment, trust, accountability, expertise, transparency, and collaboration.
• High degree of organizational awareness and knowledge of change management with the ability to help teams anticipate, plan and adapt to an evolving environment. 
• Must be quality driven individual with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Must be self-motivated and able to work at times under minimal supervision.
• Demonstrated ability to independently take on and execute multiple moderately complex tasks.
• Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
• International work experience and/or experience working with global markets preferred
• PMP (Project Management Professional) or other PM certification or equivalent is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge and skill with Microsoft Office Suite of tools, SmartSheet and supportive AI tools such as CoPilot.
• When needed, ability to travel.
