Position Summary:
IDEAYA is seeking an Associate Director, Supply Chain Operations to lead end-to-end global product planning, procurement, and logistics. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring uninterrupted material availability, maintaining strict regulatory compliance, and optimizing inventory. Strong Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) skills are required to integrate data, automate purchasing, and track lot/batch traceability across global networks. This role is responsible for driving end-to-end planning excellence—from clinical to commercial supply—through the use of advanced planning systems, cross-functional collaboration, and data-driven decision-making.
This position is based in our South San Francisco headquarter offices and required to be onsite four days per week per our company policy.

Job Description

What you’ll do:

  • Integrated Supply Planning: Help drive Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP), synchronize demand forecasting with production capacity, and minimize excess inventory. Create, develop and manage necessary tools for end-to-end demand/supply planning.
  • ERP Systems Management: Lead ERP (NetSuite) system integrations and act as the subject matter expert for inventory and supply modules. Ensure ERP data integrity for master data, lot/batch tracking, serialization, and expiry management. Assist in implementation and optimization of ERP/MRP systems to improve visibility, data accuracy, and decision-making. Champion the use of ERP and advanced planning tools (Prognosis, Kinaxis, O9, OMP) to enable real-time visibility and agility.
  • Quality & Compliance: Partner with Quality and Regulatory teams to ensure supply chain practices adhere to current Good Manufacturing Practices (cGMP), handle audits, and manage temperature-controlled cold chain logistics.
  • Risk Mitigation & Analytics: Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions, maintain robust forecasting, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) like On Time In Full (OTIF) delivery.
  • Demand Planning and Forecasting: Use historical data, market trends, forecasting software and AI tools to predict demand and guide production and inventory decisions. Partner with enterprise wide with key stakeholders (Clinical, Commercial, Development, Finance, Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, and IT) to ensure seamless end-to-end planning.
  • Inventory Management and Optimization: Balance stock availability with cost, ensuring the right products are in the right place at the right time. 
  • Risk Management and Mitigation: Identify potential disruptions, develop contingency plans, and ensure supply chain resilience. 
  • Data Analysis and Technology Integration: Leverage ERP systems, analytics, and emerging technologies to optimize operations and improve decision-making. 

Requirements:

  • Educational background: Bachelor’s degree (Supply Chain, Engineering, or Business).
  • Industry experience: 8+ years in pharmaceutical supply chain, procurement, or manufacturing. Direct experience in cGMP environments is highly sought after.
  • ERP and forecasting proficiency: Advanced expertise in tier-1 ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle/NetSuite) and advanced Excel/data analytics
  • Must possess the ability to align business requirements with technical configuration, data integration, and reporting.
  • Leadership & strategy: Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams, driving continuous improvement, and communicating operational metrics.
  • Strong understanding of global supply chain best practices, including S&OP, inventory optimization, and supplier management.
  • Knowledge of cGMP, GDP, and regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA, ICH).

The expected salary range for the role of Associate Director, Supply Chain Operations is $167,000 - $206,000. The final salary offered to a successful candidate will depend on several factors that may include but are not limited to the office location where this open position is located, the final candidates’ experience within their profession, experience in the disease areas we are striving to make an impact in as a company, length of time within the industry, educational background, and performance during the interview process.
