About the Role:

We’re looking for an Associate Litigation Counsel to join our Legal & Compliance team. In this role, you’ll manage and oversee a broad range of litigation matters, disputes, and regulatory inquiries across the U.S. and Canada while partnering closely with business leaders to support Real’s rapidly evolving technology-powered real estate platform. The ideal candidate is strategic, collaborative, business-minded, and highly skilled at navigating complex legal issues in a fast-paced environment.

What You’ll Do:

  • Manage all phases of litigation, arbitration, and pre-litigation disputes, including commercial, consumer, and employment matters.

  • Oversee intellectual property matters, including trademark and copyright enforcement, domain name disputes, and cease-and-desist responses.

  • Partner with business teams to proactively identify legal risks and develop practical, business-focused solutions.

  • Select, manage, and supervise outside counsel to ensure high-quality representation and cost-effective legal spend.

  • Lead internal investigations, subpoena responses, and e-discovery processes in collaboration with IT and product teams.

  • Counsel internal stakeholders on legal risk mitigation strategies while balancing business objectives.

  • Develop litigation strategies, support settlement negotiations, and assist with motion and brief drafting as needed.

  • Monitor and advise on evolving legal and regulatory developments impacting the business.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Strong knowledge of complex commercial litigation and dispute resolution practices.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance for non-legal stakeholders.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and strategic thinking abilities.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across cross-functional teams.

  • Technical curiosity and willingness to learn new technologies, systems, and internal processes.

  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, SharePoint, Word, and Excel.

  • Familiarity with legal technology and e-discovery platforms.

Education & Experience:

  • J.D. from an accredited law school.

  • Active license to practice law in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.

  • 5+ years of experience in a law firm or a combination of law firm and in-house corporate legal environments.

  • Experience handling complex commercial litigation, drafting motions and briefs, conducting settlement negotiations, and developing litigation strategy.

  • Intellectual property experience, including trademark and copyright matters, is a plus.
