Job Description

The Opportunity: 
The Associate Manager, Toy Marketing is responsible for supporting the Marketing team with integrated marketing strategy and planning, insights and business analysis, cross-functional team management, and omnichannel marketing execution. The Associate Manager will lead campaign planning and marketing initiatives to support American Girl’s sales growth across all channels, with a strong focus on DTC and retail execution. The ideal candidate for this role will have skills in strategic thinking, impeccable project management and organizational skills, demonstrated excellence in communication, and the proven ability to deliver measurable results in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities.

What Your Impact Will Be: 

  • Marketing Strategy: With the Marketing Manager, develop overarching omnichannel strategy and marketing briefs across key sub-brands within American Girl. Articulate target audience, positioning, messaging and creative guardrails, KPIs to ensure sales objectives are hit. Leverage consumer insights and learnings from past campaigns to ensure we are set up for success. Build overarching marketing plans with timelines, responsibilities, and channel KPIs.
  • Project Management: Lead meetings with project teams (and external partners where relevant). Take and send out notes with action items and send out in a timely manner to relevant team members. Own and track progress against timelines. Escalate any internal or partnership issues that may impede execution
  • Performance Reporting: Lead performance reporting across new launches, seasonal campaigns, and total brand POS reports.
  • Channel Execution: Lead day-to-day execution across assigned AG segments Closely monitor sales performance across all channels and leverage data to recommend changes to plans as needed to meet business results for revenue and profit targets.
  • Special Projects: Could be asked to lead or contribute to special marketing initiatives/projects including: catalog strategy, planning and execution, commercial reporting, wholesale planning/distribution, promotions strategy and execution, and more.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For:

  • 5+ (with Bachelors; 3+ with Masters) years of marketing experience in multi-channel Retail or Consumer Products industry.
  • Integrated marketing experience required across paid media (digital, influencers, out of home) and owned channels including e-commerce, retail stores, e-mail, social, print/direct mail.
  • Excellent written/verbal, time management and quantitative/analytical skills required.
  • Ability to independently build compelling visual marketing presentations. Strong PowerPoint and Excel skills.

Ability to take conclusions from data and communicate and present those actionable insights to leadership and business executives.
  • Delivers Impact: Above all, wants to deliver impact both as an individual and as a team. Comfortable taking ownership to drive discussions with cross-functional partners resulting in a consensus recommendation. A proven willingness to go the extra mile and take initiative on the things that need to be done.
  • Highly Adaptable: Comfortable with ambiguity and changing priorities. A continuous learner that is ready to push the Marketing organization into new areas and challenge the status quo. Maintain a positive attitude that rolls with changes.
  • Collaboration and Influence: Excellent communication skills, the ability to compromise and the desire to work with skill sets across the entire organization. Will be expected to lead teams that include team members with more senior titles.
  • Executive Presence: Must also be able to clearly communicate with all levels within the organization and to influence, persuade and sell direction for marketing.
