The salary range for this position is $81,900 - $95,100 per year. Offered salary is dependent upon experience and San Francisco location. This is a hybrid role based in our downtown San Francisco office – Tues through Thursday in-office, with Monday and Friday remote.

 SUMMARY

The Associate Manager, Social Media will be a highly hands-on member of the Ole Henriksen social team, responsible for bringing the brand to life through original content creation, trend identification, reactive social, and community engagement.

Working closely with the Social Media Manager, this role will help translate the broader social strategy and editorial direction into compelling, platform-native content, with a strong emphasis on being behind the camera, creating content in real time, and identifying opportunities to make the brand culturally relevant.

The ideal candidate is highly plugged into TikTok and Instagram culture, naturally curious, creatively hands-on, and excited by the fast pace of social. They should be equally comfortable developing an idea, filming it themselves, jumping on a trend quickly, engaging with the community, and using performance insights to make the next piece of content even stronger.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Content Creation & Social Execution
  • Bring the Ole Henriksen social strategy to life through hands-on, platform-native content creation
  • Concept, film, and edit short-form content for TikTok and Instagram, with a strong focus on lo-fi, authentic, trend-driven storytelling
  • Be comfortable actively filming content in-office, at events, during launches, and in the field
  • Develop content around product launches, hero products, clinical results, brand storytelling, trends, cultural moments, and everyday skincare conversations
  • Create content that feels native to each platform while maintaining the Ole Henriksen brand identity
  • Quickly identify relevant TikTok and Instagram trends, sounds, formats, memes, and cultural moments and determine how Ole Henriksen can authentically participate
  • Act as a fast-moving extension of the social team, turning timely opportunities into content quickly
  • Partner with the Social Media Manager to execute against the editorial strategy and content priorities
  • Adapt existing brand and campaign assets into engaging, platform-native social content
  • Continuously test new formats, hooks, storytelling approaches, and content styles to keep the brand fresh and engaging
  • Help build a consistent pipeline of timely, engaging content for TikTok and Instagram
Trend & Cultural Monitoring
  • Stay deeply immersed in TikTok, Instagram, beauty culture, creator trends, and emerging social behaviors
  • Monitor trending sounds, formats, memes, conversations, and cultural moments on a daily basis
  • Quickly flag trends and cultural opportunities that could be relevant for Ole Henriksen
  • Move quickly from identifying a trend to actually creating content around it
  • Bring forward fresh ideas that feel native to the platform rather than overly branded
  • Understand how to adapt trends while maintaining Ole Henriksen’s distinct brand identity
  • Maintain a strong point of view on what is culturally relevant and what is worth participating in
  • Identify opportunities for reactive content that can help Ole Henriksen participate in real-time conversations
  • Regularly bring new content ideas and social-first concepts to the broader team
Community Management
  • Own day-to-day community management across Ole Henriksen’s social channels
  • Monitor comments, replies, DMs, mentions, and relevant conversations across TikTok and Instagram
  • Engage with consumers and creators in an authentic, timely, and brand-right way
  • Identify recurring consumer questions, feedback, trends, and conversations that can inform future content
  • Proactively engage with relevant creators, beauty conversations, and cultural moments to increase brand visibility
  • Surface interesting consumer and community moments to the broader social team
  • Help ensure Ole Henriksen has an active, recognizable, and engaging presence within its community
  • Use community insights to identify opportunities for new content, product storytelling, and conversation
Content & Creator Collaboration
  • Partner with Influencer and Talent teams to maximize creator and UGC content across owned social
  • Identify high-performing creator content that can be repurposed or amplified across channels
  • Help source and organize UGC that can support ongoing social content needs
  • Work with internal Creative and Marketing teams to ensure social has the assets needed to support key launches and campaigns
  • Provide creative feedback and social-first recommendations on content
  • Support social amplification of influencer, PR, event, and campaign moments
  • Identify opportunities to bring creator content, community moments, and brand storytelling together across social
  • Help ensure creator and influencer moments are translated into timely, engaging owned content
Performance & Optimization
  • Monitor performance of social content across TikTok and Instagram, including views, reach, engagement, and other key KPIs
  • Identify high-performing content, trends, formats, hooks, and UGC and apply learnings to future content
  • Track what types of content are driving the strongest engagement, conversation, and audience growth
  • Share timely performance observations and recommendations with the Social Media Manager
  • Use performance data to continuously refine content strategy and creative execution
  • Flag high-performing organic, UGC, and creator content for potential amplification
  • Help identify opportunities to scale successful content formats and storytelling approaches
Social Calendar & Content Planning
  • Support the Social Media Manager in maintaining a consistent and strategic social content calendar
  • Help translate editorial priorities into actionable content concepts and deliverables
  • Proactively identify gaps in the content calendar and develop or source content to fill them
  • Ensure content is timely and aligned with launches, product moments, cultural moments, and broader brand priorities
  • Help manage the flow of content from concept through filming, editing, approvals, and publishing
  • Maintain strong organization around social assets, content deadlines, and upcoming opportunities
  • Balance planned content with reactive and real-time opportunities
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Work closely with the Social Media Manager to execute Ole Henriksen’s social strategy and editorial priorities
  • Partner with Marketing, Influencer, Creative, PR, and Global teams to support key brand moments
  • Collaborate with Influencer and Talent teams to maximize creator content and UGC
  • Partner with Creative and Marketing to ensure social-first thinking is incorporated into content development
  • Help ensure social opportunities are identified and activated in a timely manner
  • Represent the social team’s perspective in cross-functional conversations
  • Bring a strong understanding of platform culture and audience behavior to broader brand initiatives

REQUIREMENTS
  • 3+ years of experience in social media, content creation, influencer marketing, or a related field
  • Strong passion for beauty, skincare, cosmetics, and social culture
  • Highly active and knowledgeable across TikTok and Instagram
  • Proven experience filming and editing short-form social content
  • Comfortable being on the ground, behind the camera, and creating content quickly
  • Strong understanding of TikTok and Instagram trends, formats, sounds, and cultural moments
  • Naturally curious with a strong instinct for what will resonate on social
  • Strong eye for engaging, thumb-stopping content
  • Experience working with UGC and creator content and understanding how to turn it into social storytelling
  • Strong community management skills and a natural understanding of how brands should show up in social conversations
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple content priorities and deadlines
  • Able to move quickly, prioritize in a fast-paced environment, and act on opportunities in real time
  • Collaborative, proactive, and comfortable working cross-functionally
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Comfortable working independently while knowing when to bring in the broader team
  • Bonus: Experience in beauty, content creation, influencer marketing, CapCut or other video editing platforms, and social listening tools
