Own the architecture, governance, reliability, security, and delivery standards for the company’s Azure and Microsoft 365 platform. Lead and mentor DevOps engineers, establish infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD practices, implement identity and networking controls, automate compliance evidence, manage observability and incident processes, reduce technical debt, and serve as the senior escalation point for complex platform issues. The role also manages Microsoft and vendor relationships and communicates platform risks and decisions to executives and cross-functional stakeholders.
IREN is a vertically integrated AI Cloud provider, delivering large-scale data centers and GPU clusters for AI training and inference. IREN’s platform is underpinned by its expansive portfolio of grid-connected land and power in renewable-rich regions across North America, Europe and APAC.
With 100% renewable energy, we build, own and operate our data centers and take pride in being at the forefront of sustainable solutions for the ever-evolving applications of high-performance compute. We believe that human progress is invaluable, but it should be done in the right way – responsibly, sustainably and having a positive impact on the communities we operate in.
The Azure DevOps Lead Engineer will own the technical direction, standards and delivery of IREN's Azure platform and DevOps practice. This is a hands-on technical leadership role: you will set the architecture and governance model for our Azure estate, lead and mentor a team of DevOps engineers, and act as the escalation point for platform design and delivery decisions across the enterprise and data center business. You will partner with Cybersecurity, Compliance and Business Systems leaders to ensure the platform is secure by design, audit-ready and cost-efficient. IREN's IT function supports a NASDAQ-listed, multi-country business spanning Bitcoin mining and AI/HPC data center operations, with a Microsoft-centric enterprise stack (Azure, Entra ID, Microsoft 365, Sentinel/Defender) and SOX and ISO 27001 compliance obligations.
