Let’s face it, a company whose mission is human transformation better have some fresh thinking about the employer/employee relationship.

We do. We can’t cram it all in here, but you’ll start noticing it from the first interview.

Even our candidate experience is different. And when you get an offer from us (and accept it), you get way more than a paycheck. You get a personal BetterUp Coach, a development plan, a trained and coached manager, the most amazing team you’ve ever met (yes, each with their own personal BetterUp Coach), and most importantly, work that matters.

This makes for a remarkably focused and fulfilling work experience. Frankly, it’s not for everyone. But for people with fire in their belly, it’s a game-changing, career-defining, soul-lifting move.

Join us and we promise you the most intense and fulfilling years of your career, doing life-changing work in a fun, inventive, soulful culture.

If that sounds exciting—and the job description below feels like a fit—we really should start talking.

As a Sr. Product & Design recruiter (Contract) at BetterUp, you'll partner with product, and design leadership to build forward-looking talent strategies and identify the brilliant, passionate people who will do the best work of their lives here. You bring a builder's mentality — someone who goes through the trenches, proactively navigates competing priorities, and takes extreme ownership of outcomes. Tenacious curiosity and a commitment to mastering your craft are what will make you thrive in this role.

What you’ll do:

  • Partner with our product and design leaders to help attract, hire and generally scale their teams

  • Partner with HR and senior hiring team members (Manager through VP+) to define and implement forward-looking talent strategies that address future talent needs

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to managers and leaders, influencing org-level and requisition-level talent acquisition decisions

  • Build creative, audacious hiring strategies across a portfolio of technical roles — and deliver on them

  • Set clear expectations with hiring teams through thorough follow-up and follow-through at every stage of the process

  • Source ferociously to find the best global talent for each role; build diverse, high-quality top-of-funnel pipelines

  • Drive a candidate assessment process that enables BetterUp to hire exceptional talent that's right for us

  • Embed DEIB sourcing and assessment practices into every search

  • Build memorable candidate relationships that authentically demonstrate BetterUp's employer value proposition

If you have the following experience, please apply:

  • 7+ years of recruiting experience, ideally with both agency and in-house exposure; at least 4 years recruiting internally at a growth-stage startup

  • 4+ years of technical full-lifecycle recruiting, particularly product and design, with some engineering roles included

  • Proven experience managing VP+ hiring partner relationships as the primary recruiting point of contact

  • Track record of using recruiting data to identify opportunities to improve hiring process quality and assessment rigor

  • Experience closing candidates, articulating pre-IPO equity, and presenting competitive total compensation packages

  • Fluency with ATS platforms, LinkedIn Recruiter, boolean search, and creative sourcing strategies

AI at BetterUp:

At BetterUp, we're building an AI-enabled organization where continuous reinvention is a core value. Every team member leverages emerging technologies to unlock innovative solutions and maximize impact.

As a Senior Technical Recruiter (P4), you'll:

  • Drive functional strategy for AI adoption within talent acquisition, identifying transformational opportunities that create competitive advantage in how we source, assess, and close technical talent

  • Build scalable AI-powered recruiting workflows — from intelligent sourcing and candidate screening to automated scheduling and pipeline analytics — that fundamentally change how work gets done

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to TA leadership on AI capabilities, limitations, and strategic implications for technical hiring

  • Establish governance frameworks and best practices for responsible AI usage across the recruiting function

  • Demonstrate outsized impact through AI expertise and the ability to influence and upskill recruiting peers

We encourage all candidates to share examples of how they've used AI tools in their work — whether sourcing automation, outreach personalization, or data-driven pipeline analysis. We view AI fluency as a complement to craft, not a replacement for it. During our interview process, you'll have opportunities to showcase how you harness AI to learn, iterate, and amplify your impact.
