Brand Designer (Web)
About Bland.ai

We’re a Series C startup that has raised over $100M from Emergence Capital, Scale Venture Partners, Y Combinator, and the founders of PayPal and Twilio.

Our mission is to build the world's most human AI phone agents. Thousands of businesses rely on Bland AI to automate customer conversations while delivering an experience customers actually enjoy.

We're growing quickly, and marketing plays a critical role in how the world experiences Bland. Every website interaction, campaign, product launch, piece of content, and brand expression is an opportunity to make Bland feel differentiated, credible, and world-class.

We're looking for a Brand Designer (Web) to help define how that experience looks and feels.

What you'll own
The Website (~60%)

Own the design and day-to-day evolution of bland.ai.

Keep the site current with product launches, case studies, new messaging, and company updates. Continuously improve the design, user experience, responsiveness, accessibility, and overall quality of the site.

You'll work closely with Engineering to bring designs to life on the web. You don't need to be a software engineer, but you should be comfortable working with a modern website and using tools like Claude Code to make design changes, iterate quickly, and ship improvements yourself.

You'll own the creative quality bar for the website as it scales. You'll establish strong QA practices for anything that ships and regularly audit the site for visual inconsistencies, responsive issues, broken experiences, and stale content.

The goal is simple: make bland.ai one of the best-designed websites in enterprise technology.

The Brand System (~25%)
Help define and evolve Bland's visual identity across typography, color, layout, motion, iconography, illustration, and other brand elements.

Build guidelines, templates, and systems that allow the broader marketing team to produce great work quickly and consistently.

You should know when to build a reusable system and when to break the rules for something worth making exceptional.

Launch & Campaign Work (~15%)

Design landing pages, launch pages, campaign experiences, and other high-impact marketing creative.

Work closely with Product Marketing to turn positioning and messaging into experiences people actually want to look at.

We're particularly interested in work that goes beyond static layouts—using interaction, motion, and the capabilities of the web to make a launch memorable rather than merely clean.

This is the part of the role with the most room to be ambitious.

You'll work closely with Marketing, Growth, Product Marketing, and Engineering.

What we're looking for
Exceptional Design Taste

You have a strong point of view on design and an unusually high bar for quality.

You understand typography, composition, hierarchy, spacing, motion, and visual systems—and you know what makes a website feel premium, modern, and intentional.

Web-First Design

You love designing for the web.

You understand that great web design isn't just about making beautiful layouts. It's about interaction, movement, responsiveness, hierarchy, usability, and how an experience feels as someone moves through it.

You should have a portfolio that demonstrates strong digital and web work.

Strong Design Fundamentals

You have 3+ years of experience in brand, marketing, digital, or web design.

You may have a traditional design background, an unconventional path, or anything in between. We care much more about what you've made than where you've worked.

Technical Curiosity

You don't need to be an engineer.

But you should be comfortable working with a website and collaborating closely with engineers. You should be able to make smaller changes yourself, understand what's possible on the web, and use modern tools like Claude Code to bring ideas to life.

You don't need to know exactly how everything works. You need to be curious enough to figure it out.

Builder Mentality

You ship.

If something on the website looks wrong, you fix it.

If a page feels outdated, you improve it.

If you see an opportunity to make something better, you don't wait for someone to write a spec.

High Standards + Good Judgment

You care about the details, but you also know how to move quickly.

You can tell the difference between work that needs another few hours of refinement and work that is ready to ship.

Opinionated, Low Ego

You have strong opinions about design.

You're also willing to change your mind when someone has a better idea.

You care more about getting to the best answer than being right.
